Reminder, this is all opinions , so no need for lame insults if you disagree with people. These are the games I feel get overrated a lot (Another Note: I do not think these games are bad, actually I think they are great, high quality games, but the amount of praise they get and calling these games "best games ever made" are things I heavily disagree with).

Breath of the Wild: Yes, its a great game ,but its not close to being the best games of all time, I don't think I would put it on my top 20 , I don't think its the best 3D Zelda game , and hell I don't think its the best game that came out that year. BOTW has some big flaws that hinder it (very little enemy variety, no real dungeons, empty feeling open world). But after saying all that , its still a great game, I think I would it as a 7.5, 8/10.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Storytelling is amazing, but the game plays horribly, I would give it an 8/10

Witcher 3: I love this game and would put it in my top 10, but yeah , combat play is really bad (Thankfully to me its the only big issues in the game), I would give it a 9/10

  • Dark Souls - great game, one whose influence I appreciate, but: it falls apart in the later half, none of the Lord Souls fights are fun, and it re-uses some boss fights. also, even though it's cool how interconnected the world is, much of the levels feel like glorified corridors
  • Ghost of Tsushima - outside of its swordplay and visuals, it's the very definition of mediocre. the story is boring, the characters are forgettable, and the stealth is poorly implemented
  • Metal Gear Solid 3 - one of my favorite games, but the having to pause so you can access different menus really breaks up the flow of gameplay, and even though there's a lot of emotion, I feel like the characters are written with broad strokes, and don't have much depth to them (with the exception of Snake's support team. even The Boss is a Mary Sue
  • Yakuza 0 - just a bunch of melodrama, contrived story elements, and repetitive gameplay. the side-content is interesting, at least

I agree about the menus. Having to go into the menus so often to change camouflage and treat your wounds was annoying. Plus, while the story's good, I don't think it was as well-told as MGS1's or as weird and mind-blowing as MGS2's. Lastly, I've never felt like the more open environments in the game worked very well. I'd say it's nowhere near as good as MGS1 or MGS2 overall, but I'd still give it like an 8/10.
