Even with that incident taken into account, the Razzies somehow managed to repulse me more than the Oscars. I just don't understand the point of the Razzies at all, even giving them the leeway they never took themselves very seriously. Maybe that had something resembling a point in the '80s and '90s, but from the 2010s onwards it seems like they just go after popular targets people like to hate on that don't have much in the way of actual defenders.

Worst Picture was won by Diana the Musical, a film no one had heard of. Hard to call that a popular target.

It's true though that they usually go after popular targets.

The last two Worst Picture winners I had never heard of until they were announced as nominees. No one outside extreme politics has heard of Absolute Proof and as stated above me, hardly anyone's watched Diana the Musical.

They're definitely liberal, that's for certain. Fahrenheit 9/11, Fahrenheit 11/9 and Death of a Nation all grabbed Razzies for Worst Acting when they're documentaries, and a movie slandering Hilary Clinton won Worst Picture in 2016.

That was more my point. There were no particularly popular targets in the same vein as a Fant4stic or Cats these past two years, so now they're even more useless.

There is no point in giving Oscars to Will Smith and Jessica Chastain. There is even less of a point to naming "Diana: The Musical" Worst Picture. The Razzies are reduced to table scraps.

While the oscars are a joke as a show, and the presentation of rich people slapping each other on the back element is really bad, the actual awards picks have been pretty good for the last three, since they expanded the membership and changed the system. The Razzies usually just go for the popular targets as said. So I guess I agree with the topic?

The Bruce Willis category this year now looks pretty bad after he just revealed his aphasia diagnosis.

So it's a joke because they only exist to target big celebrities and make headlines. Then the last two years they do the exact opposite and target no celebrities and make no headlines with their two biggest awards. And that... still upsets you?

I meant more in general about that, it's more that this past Razzie "ceremony" just left me wondering what's the point to an even greater degree than the Oscars. We don't need an awards show to be told about how bad Jack & Jill or Fifty Shades of Grey are, and no one cares about whatever Absolute Proof or Diana: The Musical are.

And even with the one incident in mind, this past Oscar ceremony was probably somehow less of a joke than the last one. WTF Hollywood...then I'm reminded the Western gaming industry is somehow even worse.

I'm just here disappointed LeBron managed to snag worst actor over Ben Platt. A true tragedy.
