First MCU Disney+ character show that's not really connected to the main Avengers. Curious how it goes because of Oscar Isaac.

Oscar Isaac is one of my favorite current actors, but tbh, his accent sounds a little goofy in the trailers.

I'm still looking forward to watching this, though.

I'll watch the first episode tonight when it's up, and probably finish it tomorrow. Been looking forward to this one.

Reviews seem mixed and I feel like none of the MCU shows have fully nailed it yet but here's hoping it ends up good. He's a cool character.

Just finished the first episode, it was pretty great. Started with a pretty quick pace also which is nice.

I am definitely intrigued. I know very little about Moon Knight, but I've watched some videos about his story.

Good first episode.

Ethan Hawke has aged a bit, I didn't recognize him.

Absolutely fucking awesome imho. Oscar Isaac is absolutely perfect for this role.

bad cgi aside, solid intro for a new character

As a huge Moon Knight fan, yeah, great first episode. Really like how mindfuckery they're getting.

And yes, Oscar Isaac is perfect for this.

Excellent first episode.

It was alright, 6/10. The mystery dragged on too long. Too much setting up of a type of character weve seen before. Which is fine for a first episode.

Oscar Isaacs. I just felt there were too many scenes teasing the multiple personalities that are inside him (or whatever it is). Im looking forward to them doing more interesting stuff with it.

I meant which character have we seen before? Or do you mean the trailers have made it seem like we've seen his character before?

I mean that's fair, but this is also the first time they're working with this concept in this context.

Can't really avoid it regardless since it's a key aspect of Moon Knight

Yeah for sure, I dont begrudge them doing it, it just dragged the episode down for me.

I kinda agree. Somehow the MCU shows have been simultaneously too long and too short.

it feels like they drag out the initial mystery for way too long and then cram the ending all into the final episode.

Hawkeye in particular spent way too many episodes not giving anything away and then went into auto fire right in the last one.

I really enjoyed this episode but it did feel like it was dragging its feet until the very end

I'm thinking it's real. He's just entirely unconscious when he has it on. It reminds me of when I had viral meningitis when I was 13. I had a focal seizure during band practice and was unconscious for 3 days. To me, though, it felt like stuff just went black for like 2 seconds and then I woke up in the hospital.

Spoilers for Moon Knight as a character.

The personality "Grant" is one of the alter egos. Marc Spector(Moon Knight) is the guy talking to him in the reflections. He is the original personality of the body Issac Oscar plays.

I liked it a lot, sure it took it's sweet time with the "mystery" atmosphere, but normally that's what the first episode is suppose to do. Introduce us to what the show will be like. I don't know a thing about Moon Knight but other than the bad CGI, he looks pretty badass.

I really liked it. My only gripe would be the voice of Khonsu isn't how I imagined it, but that's really not a big deal.

Also, I liked how they at least referenced Frenchie, and hope he shows up at some point.

I've only read 1 like 5 or 6 issue story of moon knight in the comics like 10 years ago. But I remember his mental illness. I was excited to see how they portray it here. Pretty good

He's not aware of it at all. The traps and tells in his apartment are because he thinks he's sleepwalking. If he knew he had multiple personalities, he wouldn't be surprised and confused when his fish is different, when he finds a strange phone, and when people keep calling him by a different name.

It was a pretty solid first episode. Not saying much, all of the D+ MCU shows have solid first episodes. The real question is if it'll stick the landing. Hawkeye is the only one to do so and even it had some problems.

Even including the confusing psychological torture Steven's going through, the person I felt the most bad for was that living statue he apparently thinks is his best friend.

Also, I had no idea who you were talking about until I googled it. I was 100% sure the bad guy was played by Kevin Bacon.

i guess i liked it altho i felt confused and had no idea wtf was going on throughout most of the episode.

It did sound suspiciously like the Venom voice, and yeah it's the voice in his head. Basically Moon Knight has 3 distinct personalities, but technically 4 because he gets his powers from being possessed by the Egyptian God of the Moon, Khonsu.

I went in with zero expectations tbh. I like Moon Knight, but I expected live action to be bad, but gave it a chance because of Oscar Isaac.

Not bad tbh. It kept me hooked and without a single MCU reference. Had no idea Ethan Hawke was in this, so that gets me even more hyped. Though the villain itself is super cliche.

So I guess when they don't have previously established characters, they make up for it through A-List actors. I can dig it.

The lack of references is honestly my favorite thing about this. If I'm watching a show about Moon Knight I just wanna watch Moon Knight. Spider-Man and Dr. Strange and Devil Dinosaur and whoever the hell else can just fuck right off. >___>

Episode 1 was fine. Felt like it dragged in the first half, but otherwise enjoyed it. The way every single person in the world is an irrational asshole kinda makes me feel like I'm watching a bizarre, big-budget Seinfeld episode at some points. <__<

The audio is soooo good, between the music and his "episodes" it really works great on a surround system, I suggest anyone who has one or knows a friend to try it.

It ended very quickly and I was left wanting to know more, I guess thats a good sign that I enjoyed it

Looking forward to next weeks episode

All the CG in the car chase was awful, and I don't usually care about that sort of thing. The suit-up was also meh but the mummy costume is growing on me.

Isaac seems like a real good pick for the character, and the possibility that this will take place mostly through Steven's eyes is intriguing.

My favorite part was just how bad Marc seems to be at keeping his existence hidden from Steven (if that was the goal). Like ok the goldfish thing should have been a safe bet, but he hits on the coworker just because? And then when Steven starts hearing noises in the apartment, Marc just calmly asks him not to investigate further, like that's gonna make the situation better.

yaeh aside from the CGI being a step down from its usual level, it's great. but all the mcu shows have started strong and flopped the endings so i'm reserving full judgment until it's all over. great episode 1 though

I enjoyed it, but the MCU humor was especially out of place. I wish Marvel could commit to a dark tone for once.

Did was he out for some long that the fish fin's grew back? Or did his atler ego risk being discovered to get a fish with a better fin for some reason?

Also kind funny that Oscar is looking for a Fin.

The original fish died presumably.

The original fish died, presumably because he left for two/three days and no one fed it. Marc is trying to keep Steven in the dark about things, so he tried to buy a replacement fish, but the store didn't have one with one fin. He bought one with two fins and hoped Steven wouldn't notice.

The wacky car chase and the Avatar stuff stuck out to me.

Id much prefer if they let the dark atmosphere linger, like in that elevator sequence which was great.
