Does it? I've been using the same skin for like 10+ years now and it almost never changes.

I use blue on black and every time it defaults back to blue on white my retinas are assaulted

I usually use green in black. But every once in a while, it changes back to the default

This, its a very minor inconvenience to change it back but still incredibly annoying.

Red on black is my preference but I do agree having to change my settings back every now and then is irksome.

Scroll to the bottom of any page and you'll see a bar that has links to the home page, a facebook page, a twitter page, the help/contact page, and at the end, the ability to change the colors on the website. I use purple/black because I like my room dark.

I knew, I just like poking fun at Ogurisama's posts. :P

They may also have an expiration date set in their cookies. Now it seems like something they could store server side, since we all have accounts, so that when it gets a fresh cookie it inherits your preference rather than going back to default.

Probably your browser clearing out cookies for some reason.

This makes me just now realize that GameFAQs doesn't log me out every month like it always used to...strange.

It's been the same for me for many years. It could be that I just use the default settings.

yeah, there's super no reason to tie layouts to cookies, it's stupid and pointless and i don't see how it benefits anyone

I checked by clearing the cookies for this site and it did return to the default, so it is stored entirely locally. I gave them input on how they can fix this issue, just return the preferred color with every call to the user object that is retrieved for each page. No additional server costs.

@Adam_Savage what would you call a good situation to use cookies? I like my fancy backends like Blazor that basically just hold values in RAM if they have to, they carry objects between pages, so I have not yet used cookies. I assume React must have some similar system.

I guess if you're working with a site that does not use some runtime framework you would use them more. Runtime frameworks try not to really refresh the page when you navigate.
