The fact that Russia is stating they now only want one of the regions that they already controlled is a complete humiliation. Second: Between the tank columns that moved on Kyiv, the soldiers bringing their dress uniforms for their "victory" parade in Kyiv and the Russian media accidentally publishing (and quickly retracting) that Ukraine had been "liberated" on day three of the war, the stated intentions for the war were always bullshit.
