I'm still mad that they only made one season of Monkey. That was some good old fashioned Power Rangers style fun.

Add another on the pile of Netflix shows that were decent but got the axe too soon.

These factors are related.

Good show but it basically wrapped everything up in season 1.

It is/was very popular too in terms of views so this makes zero sense.

People seem to have forgotten that plenty of TV shows might only get three or four episodes before they get booted because the channel would make more money on syndicated reruns. Netflix greenlighting a whole season gives creators way more flexibility than they would otherwise, to the point where you really have no option but to blame the showrunners for ending their first season on a massive cliffhanger in some weird attempt to try and force getting a second season.

Honestly, I try not to invest too much time on Netflix shows, since they often leave lots of unresolved stuff and then just get canceled.

Luckily, they do have some things that are mostly self-contained within a season, but otherwise, they suck with this.

I checked randomly a few weeks ago and it seems to have gotten a second season. I had no idea when it dropped and it doesnt look like theres gonna be more tho lol

Care to list some examples? I can literally only think of that happening once on network TV, and it was the 80s.

i thought it had potential. man...

this is what i'm leary of watching shows that aren't finished. typically i will wait until the end of the run before i start watching. i usually dont get into cancelled shows.

That did not wrap up wtf. It was a perfect ending to segue into a 2nd season. I could see it stopping after that or even with a movie conclusion. This is dumb.

Yeah there was definitely a second season and based on the wag I remember it ending its not finished.

It hasnt been renewed yet but since its made by New Zealand television I dont know why Netflix would have any say. Not to mention it was extremely successful.

I don't even get into Netflix shows until they have a least two or three seasons. I remember liking October Faction and I Am Not Okay With This, and they both got canceled after one season, following finale-episode cliff-hangers (with the latter being a deviation from the source material that got me pretty hyped).

Never again.

They advertised the shit out of this show but I still don't know what it's about lol
