Haven't lost any teeth at 35 years old (besides wisdom teeth) or even needed any root canals. Probably like 8-9 fillings at this point though

Ehh, I try not to make too much of a habit of regular checkups for any medical thing. If I think something is wrong, then I go in.

Though I do take good care of my teeth. I avoid sugar, brush twice per day, and floss once per day. I have some whitening mouth wash, but I havent started using it yet because you cant eat or drink for 30 minutes after using it.

I'm on every 3 months now. It's not normal I know. I am not good at maintaining my teeth

Cleaned, not necessarily, but I would usually get a checkup every six months. Emphasis on usually, because since the pandemic (covid) my dentist hasn't done checkups and still hasn't restarted them. I got an emergency root canal done last summer but even that was left unfinished or something and given a temporary filling. AND he said it was caused by not flossing, yet I floss everyday. He clearly didn't believe me when I told him :( I'm genuinely worried about my teeth

I'm 33 and haven't had issues with my teeth at all. I brush and floss regularly, that's good enough.

I haven't been to a dentist in over 3 years. :/

I get them done three times a year. My insurance covers that, so why wouldn't I?

Usually yes. Ive always brushed 2x and been flossing daily for a long time. Never had a cavity in my life

I didnt go to the dentist from 2010-2014. Since then, I have been going 2-3 times a year, since its covered under my insurance. Definitely worth it.

Not at all. I actually take care of my teeth properly, unlike people who ignore them and use their bi-yearly dentist appointment as an excuse not to do anything.

I was doing well until covid. I've only been I think twice since 2020. I just had an appointment last week but it got cancelled and I haven't rescheduled yet.

Every March and September since I was about 4 years old.

44 years old. Zero cavities.

My insurance covers 4 times a year, so that's what I do.

I once went 11 years without a visit but still brushed my teeth regularly. It was my junior year in high school and I had a few cavities from drinking a powerade almost daily (I played football). Dentist said she could tell I brush daily since there was almost no plaque buildup, but suggested it was energy drinks since I played sports. Literally downed a bottle of powerade right before the appointment lol. She suggested I rinse after drinking sugary drinks.

My mom only got half of the cavities done for me, but never took me back for the 2nd half (she was poor). Never got the chance to go through community college either since she was still poor and I don't think we had dental insurance any longer. Didn't have a car for the first part of university. I had finally gotten on her insurance again towards the 2nd half of my university stay, but never got around to going. Got a ridiculously low paying job right after college and couldn't even afford to sign up for health insurance so I didn't go then either.

Finally went in 2019 when I realized I made decent money and could afford it. The dentist and the techs were amazed that for it to have been 11 years, my teeth were in pretty good condition. There was damage done to my gums though, but not much. Had to do periodontal cleaning 4 times in 1 year. I actually haven't been back since mid 2020 right as the pandemic was starting. I need to schedule an appointment soon...

No, I got my first cleaning in a while about a month ago.
I'm gonna start now though.

You're delusional. Just look at the posts in this thread alone. "I forget to brush lol but it's fine because I go to the dentist." Meanwhile there are people who get cavities who go every six months and I've never had a cavity. Weird, huh? It's almost like proper dental care is more important than paying someone a bunch of money.

If you take proper care of your teeth, you don't need dental appointments very often. You've been brainwashed by the money-sucking dental organizations.

Yeah they'll text me repeatedly when the appointment's close and refuse to stop until I respond. I'm like damn, ok let's do this.

I may have missed a few posts, but the only post I've seen where a user claims to not brush regularly mentioned also not going to the dentist. I don't see anyone claiming they don't brush because they rely on the dentist.

I'm actually over due, last visit was June and that was after 18 months because of covid. Then I held off for January because of cases spiking again (dentist offices were higher risk) but with cases being so low now I should schedule one soon
