Is there a way to change your equiped Ashes of War? Or do I just gotta unequip it off hand to start using the AoW on the right hand?

For example, I use seppuku with my left hand katana and then I want to use RoB's Ashe of War. Would I have to unequip the left hand to use RoB's AoW?

no, just two hand the left hand one (assuming that's seppuku), then go back to normal and the right hand one will be active

Edit - Noone of the great runes are good?

Doesnt godricks give you like 40 lvls? Thats great early. I still use Radahns on my caster.

Godrick and Rykard seem like the only decent great runes.

Not sure about others but the first one you get grants you like 40 levels? That seems like a helluva buff to me.

It's great, but the need to constantly reactivate makes it all a bit of more trouble than its worth

Was playing coop and I saw someone dude this blood magic that homed on the enemy and staggered and did tons of damage. Anyone know what that is?

Gives a blessing to summoned spirits which heals them when spirits kill an enemy, as well as give a phantom great rune on invasions.

Phantom rune does some weird shit. Iirc it gives bonus damage after any bleed proc and gives healing when stuff dies around you.

Its like reading an instruction manual looking it up. Good lord.

Man, you really need to be geared and dressed to the 9s to invade. Tried a few to progress the lord of blood faction. Half the time you get spawned right in the middle of the action. Guaranteed 2v1. Bleed weapons everywhere. I also have really low weapons just because Im pacing that slowly and trying all sorts, so that didnt help.

I think a lot of dudes intentionally leave twink builds characters in that region of the map to slaughter people who are doing those quick 3 varre quest invasions. I also remember the 3 invasions I did always had two dudes decked out with endgame equips just murking those of us that was invading in one or two good hits.

The few times I co-op with my friend mostly to transfer equipment and whatnot (we also fought one world map boss for the hell of it in the atlas plateau region. That rock bull thing whatever it's called) we had invaders join my game and those fights felt more on even terms, like they were on the same gear level as us for sure. We fought one on one to keep it fair and yeah....actually won those fights despite not having builds geared towards pvp.

Felt like this fall death was a little bit of the ol' bull-bull and was a bit glitchy, but whatever:

For Lusat it just has the highest scaling which is why it does the most damage at compareable upgrade level. It doesnt actually boost spells by +10% unfortunately.

For azur i also didnt notice a difference in casting speed

I love this series but goddamn they need to stop doing giant bosses

It worked for a couple ds1 and 3 bosses but 95% of them suck.

The Radahn fight was one of the coolest concepts I've seen. But with all his flailing around I couldn't even see the other fighters. And like 20% of my attacks would miss from point blank and go right through his legs.

Ruined the whole vibe of the fight.

Yeah its sad. I only use lusat for boss battles. For regular mobs carian regal sceptre is my fave

I made a buncha progress today.

Got a ton of summons, war ashes, sorceress, nearly two dozen sites of grace, leveled up ~11 levels, advanced several questlines or finished them and killed a dozen or so bosses etc.

Also still literally never used a ash of war on a weapon. I have been using moonveil and demi-human queen staff since a bit before storming stormveil...

Before that I just enchanted a dagger with a sorcery.

Level 59 feel like I am about ready to storm the academy now.

The only way top get up there is to progress Ranni's questline to the end. you will be ported up there.

Radahn was pretty easy, but the whole build up and battle was fun. I want fromsoft to make more events and splendour out of bosses instead of just walking into an open arena and the boss plopping down.

On to nokron! I beat up a second spirit deer, but can't find the way forward.

There are two ways forward. One is by a cliffside, where you'll see a giant, incredibly creepy statue where you can jump on a roof and make your way from there. The second is by the batch of jellyfish nearby the deer, there's a path along the cliff face. I love where you're at <3

Last thing I did was kill the Fire Giant. Loved the fight.

The Lord of Blood however can kiss my black ass. Fuck him.

i farmed a bit so i could dual wield two colossal greatswords (great sword and grafted great sword) + full armour. have like 45 endurance (might be 42 i need to doublecheck) + the great jar arsenal talisman (from caelid big jar).

when obtaining the great jar arsenal i cheesed the last npc invader by jumping around a tree branch that went over a cliff lmao. i didn't do much damage to any of them with a +13 greatsword but was still able to kill the first two NPCs. Had to use up most of my red flasks in the process though. the last NPC was all armored up with a great shield and i couldn't do jackshit to him but chip damage.

i feel a bit more powerful now. i don't know how well this build will do in the endgame tho. might try to duel wieldcolossal hammers but have to find someone to trade another one with.. i also still need to level up 40 more times to get 60 str + 60 vigor.

also im uncertain how well duo bossfights will go with a slower weapon. especially the twin gargoyle and godskin duo fight. those make me a bit worried rn. i struggled with them using bleed (pre-patch) weapons.

this experience so far has been fun though. I'm learning how to dodge a lot better and finding the right chance to do jump attacks. I love doing jump attacks. remind me of dmc a little bit since dmc3-dmc 5 is all about doing jumps followed by attacks lmao at least the way i play them. It's a helm breaker spam fest simulator just too bad we cant cancel out of them.

It doesn't go well for a lot of fights. Sometimes you make up for it with the burst, other times you just get infinite combo'd and you have to rely on summons being enough of a distraction.

I think in general though, heavy weapons tend to be like jump attack, run, jump attack, run, not too interactive, but neither is attack>roll for 5 minutes>repeat

Speaking of Great Runes, do they give a small bonus just for having them equipped? Godrick's rune seems to say that it buffs you and then a Rune Arc enhances it, but it doesn't actually change my stats.

Nope, only if you pop a Rune Arc.

no, pointless without a rune arc.

I actually had a stack of like, 38 rune arcs before I finally figured out what the fuck they actually did/how to even use great runes.

With that said, I now only have like 15 of them left, lol. Godrick's great rune affect of boosting your stats is really damn good though. Its the only one I have really used through the entire game.

most spell guys do seem pretty frail. unfortunately i'm one of those 50 strength 50 vigor incant dudes

well i guess if the numbers don't lie, he had like 1200 HP, that's not super low, i think. like between 30 and 40 vigor. magic's stupid, but hey, at least we know there's one good incantation

Yeah I'm using that but I haven't found a better weapon to upgrade it. Super armor on weapons is nonexistent so bigger greatsword is just slower when all these bosses jump around the screen quickly. I don't really like many of the other weapons I have or don't have the stats for them.
