This is not how systems of control work. On that scale, it is not about how good or bad individual people are. That said, it is just one of many "worst case scenario" hypotheticals, so of course it is particularly bad.

I don't know where in the USA you live, but my next-door neighbor made a point to draw confederate imagery on my property. My younger sibling was chased down a road by a guy in a car screaming slurs. People have been victimized by organized stalking for having the audacity to report being raped where I live. People have been threatened and harassed to the point where they were driven out of running for local political positions. My coworker's boyfriend was murdered in a gay hate crime. One of the primary heads of the right-wing extremists in my town is a pro-slavery pastor who now has nationwide clout, whose family crafted a blueprint for politically "taking over" towns with colleges and universities in order to spread their control. It's working, obviously.

It doesn't matter how many put "ally" in their twitter bios if these nut-bags take charge.

Because what I didn't mention is how it has impacted women and girls in my area, though I would have thought telling you that they stalk women who have the audacity to report being raped might have clued you in on what it's going to be like if these people continue to grow in power.

Would you like to know what the aforementioned figure did when someone in his congregation was caught diddling literal infants? And how the courts enabled them, showing that they have seized power in multiple facets of government? Or maybe you'd like to know how his spreading organizations treat sexual abuse in general?
