Jerse(y) could technically be pronounced the same way. Delawar would be really close, with just a slight shift in accent.

Mississipp is how some people pronounce the name of that state now. And both Californi and Texa would theoretically sound similar to how some people have pronounced those states (if you pronounce Texa closer to Tehas, which some people do to make it sound more Mexican).

Sidetopic:

I'm making pie and I couldn't follow the online directions correctly so it's VERY pie...

When you read a cookbook made in the WEST typically you use everything you make: For example, if you are making a creme citron and follow the instructions you would use ALL of the outcome in the end product.

however, EASTERN recipes tend to make a lot more intermediaries and then discard the remainder... this is a lot more, idk, accurate when trying to repeat the recipe, but because I didn't KNOW that the bottom of my pie is like an inch thick of creme citron instead of only, y'know, A MILD COATING

So, I have bout 1/4inch of space left for the pie filling which is supposed to be the main flavour :V

When I see an e at the end of a word I don't usually pronounce it but I get where you're coming from, personally I read it like new jerz
