Been here 6 months and apparently Ive been making a really strong impression. A few execs have commented about it to my manager. And my boss boss told me that they see me and what Im doing and want to make sure I have everything I need to stay here and be happy.

This is more than I ever got after 5 years at my last company. So glad I left for good.

Dont waste time with companies that dont appreciate you, especially in this current job market.

You should work your way up and become CEO then hire me and pay me a good but modest amount of money to not actually do anything.

I'm kinda in the same boat, tons of recognition and actually got performance awards two years in a row now for it too. Crazy that I didn't even leave the company, just switched groups I was in.

Im making about 60k more than at my last company so yeah and that was after they promoted me as a last ditch effort to keep me. Strong performance also translates to better bonuses here as well so Ill see when I get that

Without question but Im ready for that. I asked myself if I should fly under the radar when I joined so they wouldnt know how good I really am lol. I know I did this to myself

Yes, tech recruiter for a mid sized tech company

I think I just have a lot of industry experience. Their recruiting team has historically been more junior and dont know how to challenge hiring managers on things, or they just say yes to everything even if its a bad call. Im able to push back on a lot and get them to agree with me. And Im very good at understanding job requirements and finding exactly what they need because I understand tech speak more than most. They can tell me complex things about the role and requirements, and Ill find exactly that kind of candidate.

Ha I wouldnt say that I know some truly amazing ones

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Yeah a lot of recruiters just ghost if they dont think theyll get a hire out of the candidate. Candidates are seen like a commodity and not people. Ive had the same happen to me even as a candidate for recruiting jobs. Its shitty and Im generally making sure I update people even if we arent moving forward.

You know you've made it when you can say the CEO 'that's going to fucking kill the company'

How close are you to that level?

I had coffee with my VP this morning. She just left the company but she was my VP at my last company too and brought me on to this one. Im very sad she left because I admire her so much. Shes my vision for myself as career goals.

We talked a lot about growth for me and she gave me a ton of advice. Im at a point where Im doing so well but Im also tired. I have my baby at home too, no outside help other than our nanny. No family nearby. And I just dont know what I should do. She really helped out a ton and I have a lot of thinking to do. Im really grateful to have someone like her who actually gives a shit about me. She always goes out of her way when I need her.

I feel soooo burnt out but everything I do is because I want to provide my daughter with everything I never had. But she had a point, moving up the ladder means less time with my girl and missing out on other things in her life. Have to really think on what I want for myself
