Trying two types, both Tomcat brand because that's all Target had.

One is a snap trap that sort of looks like those tooth clips you seal chip bags with. The other is a pre-baited box called 'mouse killer' that purports to be able to kill 12 mice per box (and comes with 4 boxes). I guess this one uses poison, I don't know how I feel about it though because I think they can leave after eating the poison, which means they could crawl off and die somewhere I can't reach or see them.

Just stick with the snap traps. Those poison traps are just going to lead to dead mice all over the place and whatever you do avoid glue traps which are marketed as humane but are maybe the most cruel of all.

There are better traps for catch and release though if you want to go that route.

Glue traps atr the most effective. Caught 4 or 5 baby to medium sized mice with one once. The others caught on and started eating the stuck mice until it was just tails

Oh God, one just sprung. Seeing the carcass is pretty freaky. I'm scared to try to dispose of it that it will start moving again.

I had some mice in my walls a few months ago, bought these little electric mouse traps. I was getting upset because none of them were getting caught until one day I found out that they were actually baby squirrels lol

I don't have the heart to use a trap, I just call my exterminator friend. I used to use have a heart traps, but those have two problems. One if you don't go far away enough when you release them, they can easily find their way back. The worst part is even if you do go far enough away, you are essentially setting the mouse up to die slowly. If you don't release them as a pack and in an area where they can find food, water, and shelter, they basically die. It broke my heart when I read that shit on google.

No catch and release(Away from your property obviously)? I like to give them a chance at life somewhere else at least considering they are just doing what they can to survive.

Yeah, put them somewhere else so they can invade other people's homes. Don't solve the problem, just make it someone else's problem.

No. If you release, you're supposed to release them in a rural, woodland area that is at least somewhat hospitable for them. Obviously away from other people's property.

I don't remember anything penis-specific other than a small snake biting Chris Pontius' dick, which was dressed up as a mouse at the time. If they ever actually used a trap on a wiener, I haven't seen it or forgot.

There still are houses for the mice to go into in rural woodland areas. Unless you go really, really deep into buttfuck nowhere. A mouse's life isn't worth the money it costs in gas to drive all the way out there.

I remember now. They filled a room with mouse traps and had one of the guys dressed up as a mouse go through all the traps to get cheese and one of the traps hit his dick, or the clothing right in front of it.

If you are catching mice regularly you should probably call pest control. Mice reproduce quickly, if you didn't nip it in the bud early and you catch mice regularly, it's too late.

Also another problem with humane traps with mice is that they are neophobic. They will suffer greatly from getting caught and being released in a new environment.

Okay, dude, listen up, because this might be the most useful post you read on CE all week.

Get yourself one of these design traps:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/5/3/6/AAe-HEAADCtg.jpg

They exist in many brands, "Tin Cat" is one that seems pretty common.

I don't know exactly what it is about them, but this kind of trap works extremely well compared to others in my experience. Recently I didn't even know I had any mice around, so this trap was sitting around but not baited, and it caught a mouse. When my mom was having huge mouse problems at her place, and had been trying for weeks with other traps and caught maybe two mice; I put one of these down and it caught six of those fuckers within the first 24 hours.

My point is - get one of these. Use peanut butter or chocolate as the bait, or better yet, a specially-made rodent attractant (you can get ones that are purely attractants and not poisoned in any way).

Make sure to release the mice at least a couple of miles away from your house. Preferably away from other houses too.

Lmao I remember these from back when I worked retail. "Professional" exterminators would literally just put these along the walls and just leave

Anyway dollar store snap traps and peanut butter will clean out an entire infestation. Never use poison

I can't vouch for their efficacy myself since I obviously never dealt with them, but these are the traps we had all over the store when I worked at Walmart.
