I'm more or less in the same boat. I plan to travel once the pandemic settles down, which is the biggest thing I'm looking forward to. I also have some personal fitness goals, tons of writing projects that I might try to publish one day, and some community service projects I'm going to try to get off the ground. There's no shortage of things to do when you're unburdened, tbh.

I'm 35, single with no kids. This last year I bought my 'attainable' dream car (Subaru WRX), went on a road trip through California and Oregon visiting Crater Lake and the Redwoods, and also took up disc golfing as a new hobby.

Definitely have been wanting to do more traveling but the pandemic has put a lot of that on hold (and now it will be a shitshow as things settle because of all the pent up demand).

I'm 40 with a family of 5.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sometimes fantasizes about single life at this age. I would own an RV and find a remote job. In my spare time I would just travel around, having fun. I saw a guy on Youtube who converted a boring, white, box truck into an immaculate "stealth RV" that he can park in major cities without anyone bothering him. It seriously looks like a work truck. I think he even leaves a hardhat or orange vest on the dash that he obviously never puts on.

EDIT: I went and found the link. This guy is living the life!

So you are living a life with all your dreams come true and all you hopes/dreams fulfilled and you are complaining?

A number doesn't define you, your goals, your hopes, or your opportunity. Some things can shift, but life is what you make of it.

What do you want to hear "For some reason THIS SPECIFIC CHANGE OF YEAR DOOMS YOU FOREVER"?

If you want to throw a pity party for yourself just be honest with yourself and others. Otherwise, if I were you and "i've already seized the world and accomplished every goal i've ever had" I'd be pretty fucking happy and grateful.

What confuses me is how you are framing this all around a number.

Your age doesn't promise you anything. Your future isn't set. You could have nothing to look forward to, you could have a lot. Some number doesn't define that at all.

When I entered high-school people said I had X, Y, and Z to look forward to, I didn't. WhenI entered college they said I had all this fun to look forward to, but the fun never came.

Life is perfectly happy not giving you jack shit, you've got nothing to look forward to that you don't seek out for yourself, and even then bad-fortune can keep you miserable.

So basically the entire premise of this question is stupid.

You've achieved all your goals? Well god bless, your new goal is finding new goals.

Just keep enjoying life then? I'm 32, single, with shared custody of my kid. But I'm still enjoying life. Went to the movies last night and going again next week. Then the week after that my friends and I are going to Knott's Berry Farm (no kids going). My friends and I will definitely plan more shit to do later, I know my boys like to go to the shooting range. And at some point this year, after my son turns 7, I'll probably take him to Disneyland.

And that's not even counting all the fun I'm going to have with video games. Your fun doesn't have to end just because you're not in your 20's. I'm one of the youngest in my friend group. One of the girls just turned 40 last week and she's still out having fun with us.

Stop fucking talking about numbers. When YOU were 25 YOU didn't have a career or sense of self, some people might have those things at 25, some people might never get those things.

Some kids get cancer and die.

Life doesn't owe you shit and your question is so dumb as to be frustrating.

"I've achieved all my goals, what now?"

idk, be fucking happy, maybe. No number or age promises you anything, so it's frankly entitled for you to act otherwise.

The answer to this question is "nothing" because your age does not define your life, you aren't on a conveyor belt where experiences and joy are just handed to you with each year. Life can suck, life can be awesome, but you can "expect" nothing because nobody is guaranteed anything by life, and they certainly aren't guaranteed stuff based on their age.

For Christ's sake, go talk to some starving 35 year olds in Africa about "all their goals being fulfilled and how they now have a career and sense of self", because apparently that's exactly what everybody gets at 25-35 or go talk to somebody with a terminal disease at 10 years old and talk about "what they have to look forward to".

I don't think I've seen a topic this entitled or stupid in a long long time.

You don't have problems, you have had a privileged existence and now you are acting like your birthdays come with handouts of good experiences.

You are completely missing the point, which is that you can expect nothing because nothing is guaranteed. That you've (apparently) had this fucking awesome life isn't some consequence of you being 25-35, it was a fluke of good fortune and maybe some good choices, but it certainly wasn't promised to you in any way, and had you asked this question at 25 would not be something you had any reason to expect.

My examples of other people not having your awesome happy life was demonstrating a point you apparently missed. Which was that how old you are doesn't define you or what you can and can't expect out of life. A combination of your choices and random dumb luck defines the future.

I also don't understand how a person can complain when by their own definition they have everything they want.

If you are having "an existential crisis" then your new goal/purpose can be to figure out why and fix it, but life doesn't owe you shit, and to pretend life is going to gift you experiences because of your age is dumb and entitled af.
