It would be mainly for commuting, but I'd also use it for short-medium distance family trips in the city, like visiting other family and such.

The Toyota RAV4 Prime looks pretty rad but its a plug in hybrid. If youre wanting all electric I dont feel like anyone is really there in terms of range/performance besides Tesla, but then that means getting a Tesla.

Friend of mine got a Nissan Leaf. If it's just for simple commutes, you could go that way.

If you don't plan on going out of the city, and it's not your primary car, then honestly, something like a leaf or bolt, or plug in hybrid would work. Just something cheap and simple

The main advantage of Tesla imo, is if it's your primary vehicle and you plan to do both daily commutes and road trips with it. I mention the road trip part because the Tesla supercharger network really is quite good and has an advantage over the non fast charging options that you'd have to use with other vehicles.

Of course, as Tesla opens up supercharger to non Teslas, that advantage might diminish.

GM doesn't produce the Bolt anymore because they still can't figure out why it keeps exploding.

So Leaf or Tesla.

Teslas reliability sucks. Nissan Leaf is probably the best value buy. Ford Lightning if you need a truck is good. And it should still have the federal rebate IIRC.

Ford Lighting hasn't even begun production and dealerships already announced they're tacking on an extra $30,000+ to the price. Might not see trims under 80k for years.

With the Leaf starting at 30k, how much of a bargain is that really.

There was some point a couple years ago when I thought there were really good lease deals for the Leaf. Not sure if those still exist.
But yeah,30k would be too much to buy

Considering a Model 3 starts at $47,000 now...

i like the mustang mach-e.

Used Leafs used to not be so bad, but they're probably expensive like everything else now. Also, who knows how much longer the battery will last on the older ones?

ya i thought so too until i saw them in the wild, they grew on me.
