Little bastard was just trying to eek out a living. I give it props for surviving most of the winter with my cats (who apparently aren't mousers), but it got too bold and started getting into the crackers in the pantry. Hope it was just the one mouse. Yeah, no. Spring and bar here, like my parents taught me. Fucker was dead the instant he hit it. You know what feels worse? I set up live traps in my garage because I thought we had a mouse. I was going to let it go in a park a few miles away. A few weeks go by and we assume we just didn't have a mouse. A couple weeks later we found a dead one in a trap. I felt terrible. --- He/him ... Copied to Clipboard!

Couple months ago I made a topic about there being a mouse in my apartment. CE predicted more. Lo and behold, I ended up killing about 8 of them. I just set another trap because Im pretty sure I heard another. My dog got a couple, but the most recent, I felt bad. If the mouse has been around for long enough then there's probably more hiding somewhere. We had an outbreak a few years ago that got pretty bad but luckily we were having renovations done so anywhere they could have been hiding was basically gutted and they all left. Ive been there. Its just one of those dark things we have to lock away. But its actually good that you feel bad, because there are some sickos out there who like that stuff. In my personal experience, the only way to really solve the problem is to put those green poison logs in certain places (behind the refrigerator or somewhere you know they go, but your pets and kids cant get). They will bring it back to the nest. This way you dont have to physically see it and killing one or two doesnt make a difference when theyre breeding in the walls. --- So long, Thanks for all the fish! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I hate it too, but if you don't kill the single mouse, you'll be killing more if they are allowed to nest and breed in your place. You'll want to spill out the extra money to get the plastic traps with bait doors. The classic snap traps are cheap, but are a pain to set up, and the mouse could evade the trap, or get the bait without setting it off. Also it could injure the mouse and cause it to go into shock. --- "Er...well, y'know. You can't make an omelette without um...destroying a forest.....or something" -Black Mage ...
