As an American who obviously doesn't know shit about it.

Celine Dion representing Switzerland was weird.

With her and Abba being the only mainstream artists I could recognize.

But there is a very clear best of the best IMO.

That is the enigmatic Conchita Wurst with Rise Like a Phoenix.

Just powerful as fuck

Oh, and Toy by Netta was easily the worst.. At least the goofy ass early winners were charming. Toy made me want to shoot myself.

I was caught off guard by it. Did not expect to see it at all.

It seemed overdue considering the lack of representation from the rock genre. I would have expected something more ballady in the style of Queen to make it though. Pretty cool for an obviously talented band to win despite their apparent differences.

Really disliked "Toy" at first, but it's grown on me the past couple of years to the point that I find it OK-ish now.

Regarding Toy, I was a big fan at first but now Im tired of it. In retrospect, Eleni Foureira (Cyprus) should have won in 2018.

Toy is so incredibly grating to me. The dancing in the performance, her facial expressions, the fact that it's a club song with very little vocal talent.
