Probably the best stunt and fight choreography from any Batman movie, but my god did the editing team do anything to help with the length? At first I was really interested in what the Riddler had in store when he finally got "caught".... and it was more "explosions". I honestly tuned out in the third act because I just didn't care, I wanted the movie to end there.

Otherwise everyone did a decent job with their role. Pattinson Batman is really great, but I'm not a fan of his Bruce Wayne. I'm just hoping it was the director telling him to be more "emo" version.

The biggest thing I really like about the movie was that Gotham actually really looked like a rundown place with its film noir atmosphere. I also liked it didn't try to force humor, it wanted a tone and it stuck with it so kudos to that.

Agree that the fight choreography was strong and that the third act/payoff was a bit...long

I didn't mind the nihilistic Bruce Wayne though as he (the character) was at that point - not caring about anything

The Batman persona is overall very 'emo' and he was basically in that mindset and personality the entire movie.

I think the lessons he learned from this movie will lead to him learning that Bruce Wayne is an important part of his life in the sequels as well. Which will lead to him becoming a more public persona.

The new mayor asking/telling him "You could do so much for this city" really suggests that - along with the broader question people always ask of "Couldn't he use his money for betterment rather than gadgets?"

Also that if he actually bothered looking after his family legacy like Alfred suggested he would have found out on his own that the Wayne Foundation Renewal Fund was corrupted.

I just got into a long conversation with my brother on why he think this is the best Batman movie we ever got. At the end when Batman saw Catwoman wanting to murder her father, Falcone, when Riddler said he looked up to him and the unmasked Redditor shooter said "I am vengeance." all showed him that they all were taking "vengeance" message too far. His Batman persona had a very negative connotation as being fear instead of helping others. Which probably made the last scene of him helping those people out on the flood more significant because now he learns that he wants to be a more positive role model for his citizens. His relationship with Selina also probably will help him mellow out as well.

So yeah the negative is still that the last third act went on for a little too long, but I got more appreciation on what overall theme of this movie and what it wanted to convey. This is Bruce Wayne still learning the ropes and becoming the Bruce Wayne we all know and love. I'm very excited now on where they're going to take the sequels.

I remember Nolan saying his trilogy was about a boy learning to make sense of his parents deaths and his own grief - the trilogy did end similarly to The Batman in that he learned his actual legacy was inspiring others.

It's decent yeah

Definitely not a perfect movie...felt like the pacing was off and we didn't get to see 'Bruce Wanye' much. I get its based on the earlier years of his life but I do like seeing the contrasting roles. The animates series did it well

I also didn't like that there wasn't much detective work...it mostly boiled down to batman knowing answers to all the riddles.

I did not like it. Put simply, the writing is like CW superhero show quality. It just takes a while to notice because the acting, directing, and cinematography are good.

Lazy writing and confused pacing left me pretty frustrated. And I was on board at the start. I wanted to like this movie.

I really like the Batman Pizza from Little Caesars. I'm ordering one now. I hate that it's a promo.
