I feel bad for the manager (though they probably had a hand in the walkout). Props to people sticking up for themselves though. If you're placed in shitty situations with no pay, yeah, go ahead. I'm glad I was still able to grab a bite at White Castle before my lunch break was up. I scarved down the last of the fries with about thirty seconds to spare.

I may have to cook more often. There's a Rally's that already closed down and now B.K. has experienced a walkout.

as a 30 year old i've been walking out of workplaces on a whim since I was 18 lol. Even got me promoted once. I don't care about the "credit" but 10 years ago wasn't exactly ancient history with regards to this stuff

Isn't rising wages part of the inflation problem? Around here pretty much everyone is making $4 or more over minimum wage because it's hard to get people to work. Corporate execs aren't taking any pay cuts so they make the consumer take up the slack

This happened at a Steak & Shake I went to once. The entire staff walked out on the manager, and he was the only one left there. I went in to get my order refunded after about twenty minutes of waiting (I was talking to my friend in the car, so didn't immediately realize how much time had passed) and the absolute dumbass of a manager was still taking orders through the drive-thru to add to the line, while trying to cook food and process an entire line of people who walked in to get refunded.

An intelligent manager would have just stopped taking orders, but this guy kept walking away from somebody who wanted a refund to take an order from someone else who joined the line. My friend eventually had to go from car to car in the drive-thru telling everybody what was up both so they wouldn't waste their time, and we could get our own refund faster.

I have a friend who is still trying to get her last paycheck from a drive-thru liquor store she left almost two years ago. She worked her full two-week notice but the owner decided not to pay her. She quit because her husband got a job in another state. The government is very slow on this stuff.
