Teachers should get to slap one student a semester.

That wasn't just a slap, he bashed the kids head into the wall. Makes you wonder how many other children this monster has beaten over his 40 year career.

That asshole just walks off and leaves that kid laying on the ground after beating that kid. Thank goodness he's behind bars. Fuck him.

He was granted retirement by the school board. At least we can take solace in the fact much of that pension will now go to lawyers and he won't be able to spend much if he goes to prison.

The school didn't even fire him. He was planning to retire at the end of this school year so the school just allowed him to retire early.

I had a old friend who threw away his career for striking a student. He was a middle school teacher and the kid was being disrespectful and confrontational. Instead of handling the situation correctly, he let his rage take over. Not everyone can be an educator.

When I was in 6th grade, a teacher grabbed me by the face and slammed me up against the wall. He actually did slap another kid, dumped one out of his chair, and pushed another one down.

My mom tried to press charges against him but the police wouldn't do anything. She contacted the local media and there was only interest until they found out it was a physical abuse case, not sexual abuse.

He was put on paid administrative leave while the district investigated. Two years later, there was a hearing - none of the parents or victims were invited to attend it btw, we were told after it already happened - where his license was suspended for I think a minimum of two years, to be reinstated upon completion of an anger management program. He was back to teaching a few years later and taught one district over until 2017.

I don't know what kind of stress he experienced from that matter but it fucked me up pretty good for a very long time. I suffered three huge traumatic events in my childhood and that was the last one that really sealed my fate. School was hell after that because he was very popular among students and staff. My favorite teacher was friends with him and very cold toward me after that. A lot of my friends turned on me. I lost interest in school despite being more than capable of excelling on the gifted track. Being poor and not really having any other means to get out of that situation made school my best shot at a real future but my prospects died from the fallout of that. Maybe things would've been different if I had a real support system to help recover from that but I don't know for sure.

He never paid for what he did and I spent a lot of time with unhealthy thoughts on how to make sure he did. It took a lot to get through that because there was a point when I would've done something if I had crossed paths with him. I found his address online and kept it on a piece of paper in my wallet for years. At some point, I realized I wasn't going to do anything and I was just poisoning myself. I had to let it go for my own sake and just accept that he got away with it.

Seeing this video though, whew lawd. Really brings some shit up. Had to settle myself down and take solace in the fact that at least this POS was arrested. Fuck that board for giving him his retirement though.

What this video proves more, than a shadow of a doubt -- is that there needs to be cameras in classrooms.

Fuck no. He assaulted a minor just because he was wearing a hoodie. He shouldn't be allowed early retirement, he should have been outright fired and lose his benefits.
