Rent in the area I'm in has rocketed up over the past three years at an insane rate. "Can't raise the rent more than 5% a year!" just means "the rent's increasing 5% each year." Also NIMBYs pitching a fit when a 4-unit building tries to go into a neighborhood, just increases demand (and prices) for the units that do exist - especially so in places people want to live, such as gentrifying areas or places close to a bus stop.. ... And guys this is just a temporary problem. Soon you will be able to enjoy the luxuries of Pod living in repurposed shipping containers. Sure you may not be able to afford to live in the city you work in but thanks to Pod living you can enjoy living with your fellow employees in company sponsored Pods and not worry about rent as it will automatically be deducted from your paycheck. And gas prices will be thing of the past as you will be bussed to your job at starbucks or burger king. Why would you even want to own a car or anything at all really?
