Getting one this coming week. Just wondering if anyone here has both of them and could tell me which one they prefer?

Both are technically viable, you should make your choice purely on the exclusives

If you have a gaming PC though then get the PS5. There no reason to have a gaming PC and an Xbox.

I've got both. They're both pretty solid, honestly. PS5 has the better exclusives, especially if you have a gaming PC, but Game Pass is just a phenomenal service. Day one access to every first party game, plus a bunch of third party ones, as well as access to a huge catalogue of older games. Considering the price of AAA games is going up this gen, that can be a big money-saver.

The PS5's DualSense controller does some really cool stuff and you get a free game/tech demo to show it off, but there's only a few games that really make use of it so far. Series X is also better for upgrades from last gen, with Smart Delivery for Xbox One games titles, plus a bunch of free upgrades to certain games, whereas PS5 is a bit less intuitive and sometimes requires buying the upgrade. Also got to make sure you're downloading the right version of the game.

Also, if it matters to you, both consoles are chonky, but the Series X is girthier, whereas the PS5 is longer. And you can't really put anything on the PS5. The Series X also puts out a lot of heat from the top, so don't put it near anything that can melt.

I wouldn't. But PS4 BC is worth more than the entire Xbox line BC as far as I'm concerned, and if you need a console, I can tell you the PS5 does that job.

As of now, you can't really go wrong with either. Depends on if you prefer the Playstation exclusives or many more games for a much better price.

I own both and I have literally played 1 hour on my PS5 total lmao, Series X just offers way too much value and the OS is a billion times easier to use.

Quick resume has legitimately changed the way I play games.

Again it depends on what you're looking for.

Technically speaking the Series X doesn't have ANY exclusive games as far as I'm aware, just console exclusives. And not a lot of them even then!

But if you don't care about any of the Sony exclusives then knock yourself out!

Depends if Elderscrolls, Fallout, Starfield, Halo, Fable, Forza, and Gears are more of your jam or if Spider-man, God of War, Horizon, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, Persona, and Final Fantasy are more of your jam.

If JRPGs are king, PS. If WRPGs are king, Xbox.

Gamepass is great too. Each are good consoles. It comes down to preference.

Game Pass takes a metric dump all over anything PS5 offers. Series X all the way.

I have both. I prefer the PS5.

GamePass is nice and it's a way for me to save some money in the long run. I'll wait and see if a game comes out on that unless I really really want to play the game at release and get it on the PS5. I think I will be getting all single-player games on the PS5. Right now my Series X is a Halo machine.

I had gamepass for a few months on Xbone and I only ended up playing 1 game, Vampyr. It's the Netflix situation for me where there's a billion things to play but I just don't want to start up any of them. I would say that less than 1% of the games that release I actually want to play, and having Gamepass just feels like an obligation that I am not actually interested in.

That's just me though!

Though I should point out that in the 5 years I had a One, I literally only payed Halo 4 and...Vampyr in it. Don't have a lot of love for the platform.

I don't really play anything on console unless that's the only place it exists, the only platform I own it for, or there's something wrong with the PC version.
