They're about the only ones that are forced or even try to read. What would be a good topic or premise for a Young Adult book? I was thinking maybe the time frame of the story could follow a typical day in the life of one character or multiple characters. I can vaguely see the outline. What should it be about, subjects, topics, etc.?

Oh I think you're supposed to feature minorities for it to do well, better yet, don't let the color be predominate for any character.

I disagree. I would say your best chance at a hit is to get your book banned and ride the backlash.

So start by picking a couple of marginalized groups and combine them into your main character. Go.

How about a story set in a dystopian future where society is oppressed by a harsh government and a single teen girl has to save everyone. I don't think anyone has done a story like that before.

Sounds terrible, but also a money maker. I'd feel like such a shill.

I had a story in mind that would make decent YA but I think there is already an anime about it now.

Anyway the story is about a group of young people who go on a space vacation and end up trapped in a space colony that is sentient.
