Trying to build Destiny Heroes IRL and holy FUCK heroes got expensive. That being said I'll stick to swordsouls I guess.

The last day of the ranked season proved to be my absolute worst day playing this game so far. On my main account, it took 10 duels to get the 2 wins needed to complete the daily challenges, and on my side account, it took 18 duels to do the same. In total tonight, I had 24 losses to only 4 "wins", and 3 of my 4 "wins" were just my opponent misplaying and scooping, so in reality I only had 1 win that I actually earned out of 28 total duels.

I feel like absolute shit after this.

I felt like this yesterday. Lost a few coin tosses so I got blown out by Drytron and rhongomyniad turbo. After that it was an exodia 0tk so twenty minutes going through their entire deck. Then I got so annoyed at having wasted so much time I started misplaying in other duels. By the time I finished the daily mission I was burned out and SUPER salty.

Today I decided to try some new low cost decks just for something new and finally got matched against different decks. Marincess and some salamangreat to name a couple. For a free game that requires no investment Master Duel is still awesome. But some days you get into bad matches and its easy to get frustrated.

TIL there's a cap of 10k gems max on hand at a time.

So yeah, apart from 10 pulling a couple of times (or three) in the secret pack that has Stardust in it (Stardust Ties) and buying the three special bundles, I haven't pulled anything. Yet.

I'm really not sure what to pull for lmao. There are so many cards my head spins.

In solo mode it took me ungodly amount of time reading card effects and all that, actually messing up my synchros because I pressed a wrong option and sending a beatstick to GY during a duel with loaner deck because I misinterpreted the effects...

How do you guys play with such speed? @_@

Oh, that's easy. See, for me personally, it usually goes something like this; "Okay, I do this, then this, then this, and now I can summon th-- WAIT SHIT NO FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK! ARGH!" At that point, I either just keep going and try to salvage things (which sometimes works), let my opponent finish me off (if I fucked up and they obviously have lethal on board), or concede (if they're Eldlich/Harolds).

The fear of losing due to misplays holds me back from playing ranked duels beyond Gold even though I know my deck is strong and I have defeated tough decks like Tri-Brigade Zoodiacs, Dragonmaids, Thunder Dragons, BEWD and even know ways to out Drytrons/Virtual Worlds/Eldlich

i dueled a dryton/herald ritual deck that that gets heralds ritual card out to negate anything you try and then beats you down with the 4000 atk dryton ritual.
if they go first they are hard to get around

anyway i countered them with just a single traptrix atrax
as soon as they summoned the herald ritual i used a trap hole trap card on it and then when they tried to negate the trap they learned that when atrax is on the field normal trap cards cannot be negated

Got to plat 1 with my solfachord deck, ended the night on a crazy full anime duel vs eldlich. Went 10 turns, down to my last 50 LP, and drew just the right card like 3 turns in a row: https://streamable.com/wn7bhb

Pretty fun experience doing some research, building my own deck, and doing well with it vs meta. Had to throw pretty much everything into building it since it was so expensive but it was worth it for the learning experience + I already have 10k gems saved up for when they release more cards and I decide what I want to build next

I had 2 drytron players in a row ragequit after I negated and banished their little searcher dude.

I also had a duel against cyber dragons where we both got stupidly bad hands. The dude NORMAL SUMMONS MAXX C just to get some damage on me. He does get core that I negate with imperm. I eventually pop off a tiny but with tri brigade into my link 3 that can't get over his fusion so I just end turn and accept my fate. For some reason he sacs my link that does nothing for the mech kaiju. I'm assuming he thought his fusion was treated as a cyber dragon and wanted to go into Chimeratech but he couldn't. Next turn I make Ominous Omen with my fresh 4 winged beast graveyard and go for game.

So... they made this next season worse.

Well, in addition to not sending gems out again for the end of season, now you can't rank out of Platinum period once you hit it. So if the gem thing was intentional, that means there's no real reason to push for Platinum since you get fucked out of gems.

So if you make it to Plat5 but aren't good enough to climb higher, then you're stuck in Plat5 hell until the end of the season?

Yup! So now the question becomes, is getting to Platinum even worth it for people? Because if there are no bonus gems from the end of the season, there's no reason to make the climb when you can stay in Gold and then get everything next season.

I'm definitely not going into Platinum after these changes. All it'll do is make the game less fun this season and make me get less gems next season.

That's possible, but that also means that climbing Gold is going to become a bigger headache. As it is, playing right now seems like a bad idea until some people move out of Gold V; saw way too many Drytons when I played earlier, plus three different people playing Danger! Numeron Dragon OTK deck that ran Denko Sekka to (presumably) counter Eldlich decks. Which was not fun, considering I was fucking around with a mostly N/R Yosenju deck.

Played 3 games this season to knock out the daily quests. Really having bad luck getting more UR fodder to melt into something I really could benefit from. D; But I'm also annoyingly far from any challenge gems unless I made a deck just for that purpose.

I was Plat 1 now I'm Gold V. Didn't get any gems for the new month tho

This game and the rest of my life is taking a backseat to Elden Ring tho

Basically, what Konami did is they decided to make Plat V like Gold V; once you're there, you can't fall back out to the lower tier until the reset. And according to the math people have done, the amount of gems you get from going Gold V to Plat 1 is about the same as going Silver V to Gold 1, which makes it a question of whether or not dealing with the meta decks in Plat is worth it to people. Unfortunately, a lot of those people are deciding to stick in Gold with their meta decks instead, although the fact that it's the first day of the season might be biasing things a little.

i hate when i cant draw a card i need to turn a duel around then in my opening hand of my next duel i draw the damn card

Yeah, my Kaiju's like showing up against Sky Strikers, but are nowhere to be seen against Drytons or Eldlich.

why have they never made a spell card called dip that kills toon monsters

I hate drytrons. Wiped their field twice but nah as long as they have something in the grave they can cycle stuff and still get a board set up that turn and an orange herald ready to go for my turn.

I have been meaning to ask though, when I look through deck recipes sometimes it has some cards backs so I can't even see what's in the deck. What's up with that?

All of the deck lists found in the in-game deck search feature are taken from Yu-Gi-Oh Neuron, an external app where you can save and register decks and do a bunch of other stuff for the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. But since that app primarily focuses on the real-life TCG and not just Master Duel, it includes info on decks and cards that aren't playable in Master Duel yet because those cards haven't been implemented yet.

To put it simply: blank card = card that's not in the game yet

After watching some videos and stuff I get the idea of building a synchro(n) based deck.

But still, seeing most of the Extra Deck being URs is painful.
Why do Clear Wing and Crystal Wing have the same rarity despite the former being slightly inferior than the latter.

Also, can Link monsters be used as Xyz/Synchro material? They don't have levels.

Link Monsters can only be used for summoning other Link Monsters.

Both XYZ and Link monsters do not have levels and therefore cannot be used for synchro (or ritual) summons.

So, this was a damn good day so far; went maybe 17-5 (and none of them were people trying to derank from Gold 1, thankfully), and also discovered the glories of ThunderLock against a Dryton player who I'm pretty sure didn't find the same humor in it that I did.

So you need to summon Links first, throw them to GY, then utilize Synchros to make full use of Borreload Savage Dragon.

I'm genuinely surprised we haven't gotten any link monsters yet that have effects like

"You can synchro summon using this card, using its link rating as a level"

Or banishing Extra deck via effects/spells/traps.

Synchros are harder to get out compared to xyz and links.

Most decks that run links use them to help clear away monsters from their main monster zone in order to trigger effects as part of their combo or summon links that help extend their combo.

Then you end on a link like apollousa.

So uh, the game is supposed to show kaiju counters, right? My opponent got out 3 and I couldn't see how many counters it had on it but somehow they activated the effect of the turtle one 3 times in one turn which would mean they needed 6 on the field but I didn't see tokens on anything. :/

I think some of them can put kaiju counters basically anywhere on the field. If there's counters on the card I think they'll be at the bottom right of the card blow-up when you select them

So I just won a duel with a deck that wasn't even built to win lol. I just wanted to grind the trap mission so I built a deck of 40 traps and just kept activating them, stuff like Compulse, Bottomless, etc.

Well turns out I accidentally added some random ass Paleozoic to the deck, so I had an attacking monster (a 1200 normal beatstick lmao) so just for memes I decided to see how far I could take this battle.

I ended up grinding this Synchron player out of all the cards in their hand and field (they top decked a Tuning right after I had top decked Mistake fufufufu)

After my might 1200 atk monster killed their Jet Syncron they had no cards in the field or hand so they decided to just surrender. Good thing too, because my last trap was a Kunai With Chain. Imagine an 1800 vanilla beatstick, the horror!

The text is summons a monster(s) which means any number of concurrent summons only triggers it once.

Okay. They had waterfront and spread them onto my continuous spell card which is why I didn't see them at all, I'd never have checked my own card like that. D;

I've been thinking about Sky Strikers for the past few days, about how the "action mecha girl" aesthetic is perfectly suited for my tastes and how the lore behind Raye and Roze reminds me a lot of two characters from an anime that I really like... and then it hit me. Why the hell didn't I build this deck before? Now I want to build Sky Strikers really badly, but I don't have the gems for it on either of my two accounts. Am I really willing to start a third brand new account just to play this deck? At this point, maybe.
