Typically no unless I'm expecting something important.

I do - but I work from home a lot and I'm on Salary.

When I wasn't on salary - no phone calls and no emails after I left the building.

Honestly that is part of the reason why I don't typically do it. Working from home I need to have some clear delineation of when I'm done working. They have my cell number if something critical comes up and if it isn't important enough for them to call me it can wait until tomorrow.

Nope, for the most part it can wait until I clock in tomorrow. If I'm away for days, my auto-message will direct people to the next best person to contact

This, but I'm salaried, so it's a bit different.

Fair enough. I can do an 8 hour work day in about 1 1/2 - so working from home gives me a lot of 'free' time that I don't get when I'm actually at work. Consequently, I typically answer the phone / emails at any hour.

This, though first two and half months of Covid, I did check it from home, despite not working those two months (or little to no work) as alot of communications were going out.

I cant check work emails outside of work

They'll send important messages to my personal email, everything else I have to access while on the clock

Same here. Sometimes I have the answer and can make things easier for my coworkers by answering a question real quick. But if I'm grumpy or annoyed I will just leave it until I get back to work.

I generally don't look at any work emails, it's either stuff irrelevant to me but gets sent to the whole staff or something they'll talk about in person too

I might skim through them in the morning an hour or so before I'm due to actually start work, just to get an idea of what the day ahead is going to be like. But that's it.

If you're not salaried, you likely aren't getting work emails off the clock -- unless you're commissioned, at which point you SHOULD want to check emails around the clock because your money depends on it.

I've sometimes worked sales as a side hustle, and not checking my email would have cost me a lot of money. In some cases, it was the difference between full commission and a split where, in one case, I might have been out $400 or $500.
