Thats the whole point of it though, it is meant to be a reimagining of the fresh Prince of bel air, its not meant to be just another fish out of water story. Morgan cooper wanted to tell the fresh Prince story in a less comedic and more dramatic way, and bring it up to the modern day, theyve done that really well so far.
