It's a partially improv series where a celebrity guest has to play detective in a murder mystery, but only they don't know the script and what's going to happen.

On episode 1 with Conan O'Brien and I'm having a blast so far!

Yeah 2 was pretty good too IMO, though I wasn't sure at the beginning. I enjoy how the different guests bring a different dynamic with the main character.

Episode 3: I'm originally from Pakistan but moved to London when I was 3. lmao

3>4>1>2>5>>>6

The first four were amazing and 5 was pretty good too. 6 had its moments but I thought it was the weakest of the bunch. Still, it was an amazing concept and I hope we get a season 2 down the line.

Watched it all and it just didn't quite click for me ever. I don't think it ever quite captured the manic energy the format really required. It was like watching the movie clue with only one ending, but the reveals at the end are tepid and reserved.

Will Arnette's character is great, but the rest of the show around him was played too straight for a comedy. When the guests match his energy it works well, but the improv nature made that inconsistent at best. Especially because the guests were often just playing themselves with a reality tv feel to it, which never quite clicks.

I enjoyed it, but I rarely found myself laughing or fully engaged. I think there's sort of an uncanny valley effect between Arnette's comedy, the world being played straight, and the reality tv vibe of the guests that leads to never settling in. In short it has a tone problem, and I think the format is more to blame for that than anything.

Yeah I only watched the first episode and I had similar thoughts. The only thing I really laughed at was forcing Conan to keep eating hot sauce.

It kinda feels like a hidden camera show where the person being tricked is also in on the trick. It's hard to make it work they're trying to make it feel like a genuine world and also winking at how silly it is at the same time.

Conan's improv was fine but the response from other characters was almost always "wow that's a crazy/stupid thing to say" which does get a little old. I think it would be more successful if they leaned into the improv instead of treating it like some weird game show for the guest.
