Jeff Bezos' new megayacht is being built in the Netherlands, where it may require a historic bridge be dismantled so it can sail through.
Some Dutch residents definitely won't be egging him on but will instead be chucking eggs at his yacht when it passes.
Rotterdam locals have taken to Facebook to plan an event called "Throwing eggs at Jeff Bezos' superyacht" in protest.

"Calling all Rotterdammers, take a box of rotten eggs with you and let's throw them en masse at Jeff's superyacht when it sails through the Hef in Rotterdam," the event description reads. "Rotterdam was built from the rubble by the people of Rotterdam, and we don't just take that apart for the phallic symbol of a megalomaniac billionaire. Not without a fight!"
As of this writing, roughly 1,200 people have marked themselves going to the event, and 4,900 people are interested in it. The event is slated for June 1.

Sounds like a great way to get arrested.

They should build their own bridge a little ways away and not take it down.

And by hurt Bezos, I mean inconvenience the litany of low income workers he has a board the yacht for cleaning and maintainance.

Sucks that the only way to hurt a rich person is to hurt a rich person, but with money comes the ability to distance themselves from things that would inconvenience people like you or I.

it will hurt his ego and his image and he will probably have to hire some more people which will upset him

Not at all. I'm actually all for taking these super-rich guys down a peg or several. I just wonder if announcing this so publicly is a good idea.

5000 people are interested. Most likely even some dutch cops.

Besides, if they get jailed for this, it will just show more people why having billionaires is infact a bad thing for society.

Good on them but they should also be throwing shit at the politicians who approved this.

At least throw something that's actually hard to clean up.

Knowing the Dutch police, they won't make a big fuss out of it. I expect they'll either close off the road, or fine a few troublemakers to set an example.
