He stopped being a symbol as he began to see how more and more super villains were popping up as a result of his actions. By the end of the sequels, his friends are practically running into the room after him with a gun in hand like, "Move away, Bruce! I'm just gonna fucking cap this guy! I mean it! Enough of this shit!"

Its still such a good movie. I like The Dark Knight more, but I do feel like that movie way overshadows Begins.

Every time I watch Begins it always amazes me how really freaking good it is.

That's mostly on account of DKR not augmenting the Bat-suit enough to differentiate

The bat swarm was a diversion to help him escape the police when trapped in a building. It was a pretty specific situation.

He really had no need for that in Dark Knight - he was mostly on the offensive, trying to hunt down Joker. In Dark Knight Rises, his only time where he needed to escape a force was outdoors, so it wouldnt have worked.

I just watched it randomly today for the first time in a long time, and while Dark Knight is my favorite comic book movie of all time, Batman Begins honestly isnt that far behind. Its really close. And it gets forgotten a bit due to just how great Dark Knight was. The silver medalist doesnt get the same glory as the gold.
