Make a simple graph with each line representing 1.

Start at (0,0), aka, the middle.

Go up 4, that is the y-intercept which means that's where the line goes through the y axis. (that's what the ' + 4' in the initial equation means)

the '3x' gives you the slope, your slope is 3. Slope means basically how tilted the line is. The slope is calculated by rise (how up the line is tilted) divided by run (how long the line is tilted)

since the slope is 3 which is the same as (3 divided by 1), you know that your rise is 3 and your run is 1

next you want to make a dot at (0,4) the y intercept. Then, go over +1 space (the run) and up 3 spaces ( the rise). Make a dot there, the point will be (1,7). Then, go back to point (0,4) and do the previous few steps backwards as lines move backwards. Go over -1 space and go down 3. Make a dot at (-1,1).

You have 3 dots now. Connect the dots and there's the graph of the line. Hope that made sense, im fairly high and also only kind of care.
