I'm surprised at Marvel.

One would think that they would have been promoting "the next Thanos" bigtime in the comics and video games. Make Kang the final boss of an Avengers game. Give him a big comic book story where he "kills" Thor. Let his name go viral so that people know who he is when he shows up in the movies.

Instead, whoever becomes the next Final Boss of the MCU is going to be someone to completely come out of nowhere as far as general audiences are concerned.

The Multiverse shenanigans is clearly leading up to Kang. Will it all be wrapped up in Phase 4?

I really hope their MCU movie revitalizes the Fantastic Four in the eyes of the mainstream. This attitude that they're bland/lame is unfair. :(

Yea I could see that. That is how it works in the comics. There are many storyline going on in different series. Sometimes they all merge in a universe wide event but not always. Or sometimes they have smaller merges. Like maybe Spider-Man helps out the X-Men

They said clearly there won't be. Feign is done with that because of the sheer amount of effort and stress required. There's still going to be multi movie arcs,just not another 10 year long or so buildup.

I keep forgetting that Kevin Feige is going to live forever.

That man will always have control over the MCU. They'll never reboot, never replace him, and never have a multi-arch story again.

I think they are doing less events but they still happen. But I actually haven't read anything published past Avengers vs X-Men. I think that is the most recent thing I've read

I think the best way to handle Doom and Magneto are to have them be side characters in other stuff and just be an overall nuisance, and occasionally helping.

Then they can build them up to be major threats for later on. I don't like how they show up as a big bad and then are turned into an antihero/good guy after their defeat like Loki.

Personally I would rather see Mojo show up as the main villain for the next couple films. That way you can bring in characters like Doom, Sabertooth and the Beyonder into that universe, with someone like Helen Mirren playing Madame Web.

Actually I think Doom would be best as a regular presence as the leader of a sovereign nation. Would be interesting to see Wakanda decide how to act when Doom tells them he has always been aware of their technology and left their borders alone so they should leave his alone. Or post-accords who exactly gets upset when the Avengers take him down and other dictators start claiming they're an arm of the CIA.

EDIT: Hell, they could adjust the Dark Avengers stuff from being an Osborne invention to a Doom one. See what happens when Doom maintains his OWN avengers and sends them on missions so we can watch Cap argue that there's a difference between when they unilaterally perform operations in foreign nations and when Doom's avengers do.

Imagine if Doom was introduced in Black Panther 2 and we had a Wakanda vs Latveria war of ideals.

He's not really the type of threat it would take the entire MCU to defeat, funny enough. He can generally be stopped just by the FF or even Silver Surfer by himself.

Galactus is like the perfect mid-trilogy villain. He's a big enough threat to deserve some build-up, but he also transitions neatly into Abraxas if they wanted to further up the ante.
