Anyway, 1 told me about it and I said Id be interested. But apparently 2 didnt want me to know and wanted things to happen naturally. Which wouldnt have happened as I have very little reason to ever speak to her at work. Anyway, 1 ended up telling 3 (the source of the info) that I was also interested. A couple of weeks later, another coworker is suddenly putting together a board game group outside of work. When he pitched it to me he specifically mentioned Coworker 2s name as someone who is participating (even though he has never seen me speak to or interact with her). He also works a bit with 3. Anyway, it seems a little too coincidental and I think they are trying to set me and 2 up together at this point, although I could also see the coworker who pitched the event coming up with this on his own. Anyway, how should I approach this? Im thinking of maybe asking for 2s number after the get together (assuming we actually hit it off at least a little, we have spoken very little and only work related stuff), talking a bit outside of work and then maybe asking her to do something one on one. The happen naturally thing is throwing me off, but at the same time I dont want to do nothing and make her think Im not interested and move on.
