Underpaid by so much. We're really talking about legislation to have microphones in classrooms at all times for parents to listen to "CRT", but also teachers have to literally grovel on their knees in stadiums to get money to have crayons for their classroom.

More people will be dissuaded from going into teaching and American education will keep getting worse

All part of the plan to keep Americans ignorant and without the ability to think critically.

The most crazy, rabid and power-hungry assholes know to attack the foundations of society. That's why conservatives push so hard to make public education shit and force their teachings onto others. If you want a glimpse into how the taliban operate, just look at how public schools are attacked in the US.

The scary part is that they view this as a crusade and will tenaciously pursue this path for decades and decades, happy to die knowing that they're moving towards getting their way.

This is the worst part. The ignorant and hateful draw from a bottomless well of self-righteous aggression, while the intelligent and forward-thinking simply run out of energy / patience to keep fighting them off.

it really blows my mind how little value America places in our teachers. some states require a Master's degree to teach and then start teachers at like $40k. it's nuts.
