Was this game really bad or something or is this simply Ubisoft being Ubisoft and selling a single-player game for dirt-cheap so they can bait you in with the DLC?

I have the rest of the games so I might as well get this, just wanted a better idea of what was going on first though

It's more Far Cry.

If you want more Far Cry, go for it.

There's a few changes that are great and a few are garbage, same as usual.

I don't like that you gotta use specific ammos. The game was only fun to me because you didn't have to constantly interupt the combat or use specific guns. Now, they messed up the only thing I liked

Far cry got really stale with 5

Ubisoft is on life support, their stale formula (not just Far Cry, pretty much every franchise) is finally starting to turn people away. Why do you think they're still clinging to the NFT scam, even after the huge backlash? Their studio infrastructure is immense and needs a constant flow of money to keep afloat, that cashflow is starting to dwindle

Im not looking for Assassins Creed levels of reinvention every year here lol

idk man did it hide the true ending in a DLC like Far Cry 5? nothing is that level of irritating IMO

Genuinely had forgotten it even came out

If you liked the other games and aren't burnt out then you'd like it. I personally got burnt out halfway through, but I played the hell out of 5 so I think I"m just tired of the formula as fun as it can be.

This, but as awesome as he is, he wasn't so great to make the game super duper awesome like they wanted it to be. The stories seem to usually be the weakest parts of the series.

It's not a bad game at all honestly. But Far Cry has done nothing new really since 4 in terms of gameplay. It's a different setting with different characters and some new weapons. But it's the same game.

It completely abandoned the perk system.

Instead abilities are gated behind "tools" you get from accomplishing stuff or from the pieces of your armor that you can change whenever.

Additionally you can change guns at any time but you can't change the ammo type on the fly.

I don't think syringes are used at all but I may have not gotten there yet.

Supremos give you special abilities, like a jump dash.

Outside of that the core is pretty much the same.

It's not a bad game. It suffers the same way Far Cry 5 did though. The game focuses on taking out taking out the 3 lieutenants first, but allows you to take them out in whichever order you want. Which means, the story has to make sense, regardless of which order you do things in. And the story suffers from that, in my opinion. I was hoping that, with the big focus on Giancarlo Esposito, the story would be more focused and linear, but nope.

The gameplay is still mostly the same far cry experience though. They added in different ammo types, that enemies are strong or weak against, but if you're going for headshots instead of body shots, armor piercing rounds make quick work of all human enemy types.
