Tobey spider was actually the struggling, awkward hero. Andrew garfield was handsome, charismatic and very successful at dating. Tom Holland spiderman also didn't show much of his struggles, he had ironman for mentor and even his suit given to him. Most of his story was chasing MJ and not much of anything else. If you look at all the other heroes like thor, ironman, hulk, fantastic 4, they are all very successful when they are not fighting the bad guys.
