Well not literally everyone, but a damn lot. Coworkers, friends, family members. Households that havent been in close contact with one another. People who have gotten their vaccinations and even one person who got the 3rd booster shot.

Before I only knew of some people whose aunts uncles sister-in-laws friends grandmother had Covid. But one week into the year and suddenly a lot of people I know have gotten Covid.

No shit, it's insanely infectious and we're open for business.

It's very infectious, but less deadly, so people are picking a comfortable balance between risk and safety. I still want to do everything in my power to not get it tho. I have an N95 mask and everything.

We still don't know that, and even if it actually is if it's as infectious as it appears to be, just as many or more people are gonna die just on raw numbers alone.

Yeah, I somehow went the last two years without really knowing anyone who got it. Now suddenly have a shitload of coworkers out sick and two of my cousins have it which most assuredly means my aunt, third cousin, and grandparents have it.

I've basically basically accepted that I'm going to get it at this point. I have all three jabs, so it should hopefully be mild.

I had 5 students absent on Friday and at my other job we have at least 6 people out with Covid in just our department

I've known lots of people now who have gotten it but thankfully all of them are either recovering fine or have already recovered. I thought that was the idea behind all these jabs

I didn't say it was mild. I said it was less deadly.

Yeah, when someone says Omicorn is less deadly, don't equate that to it being called mild.
Afterall, you wouldn't call a crash at 40 mph as opposed to 60 mph a "mild" crash, would you?

Every testing location nearby is either out or the soonest appointments are a week away. So I have to go get tested where my friend got tested.

Which means I have to drive some 50 miles and get to a clinic by 6:30 AM and wait an hour (hopefully at the front of the line) for them to open.

Just so I can get tested and give proof to work so that they can waive my sick call-ins as Covid call-ins.

Pretty sure it's going through my house currently. Waiting until Tuesday for testing. Very mild symptoms so far.

I bet the long lines and lack of tests are because of unvaccinated people needing to get tested in order to go to work.

I've managed to keep safe by just never leaving the house and getting everything delivered. I've only left to go to the doctor's.

I've had a headache for a couple of days, as has one of my sons. My other son has been sneezing a bit. My wife has chills and minor body aches. We're all vaccinated and basically just feel inconvenienced at the moment. Hope it stays this way.

god ****ing damnit! They changed the policy within the last couple of days.
