Since their body doesn't stiffen up and kinda just goes with whatever's happening they are less likely to be hurt

Like if I squint it seems to make some sense, but on the other hand, the forces involved are so extreme that I'm inclined to think it's more to do with the directional force/impact of the crash.

Like, being floppy in your seat isn't going to save you if your car's engine goes through your face at 100 miles an hour.

Equally, whether you're floppy or you tense real hard, it isn't going to change what direction your body moves when you go from 100 to 0 instantly.

The point is, if she had been held in jail after her previous crimes, this wouldn't have happened.

Unless the original crime is related to drunk driving, they aren't going to keep someone in jail just on the off chance they might drive drunk and kill someone. There was no indication something like this might happen, so it's kind of asinine to do the whole "well if they hadn't granted bail" thing here

Its almost like letting people as insane, stupid and reckless as the capitol rioters be amongst the general public is dangerously negligent.

Not one of them should ever be released to the public again. Certainly not without years of actual rehabilitation and only if they show a massive improvement in judgement and genuine remorse. But our system is not set up for that so never leaving the prison fences is the best way to proceed for the safety of us all.

It's partially true but the real reason is most often the drunk driver is the one crashing into someone else. Car safety when you hit something with the front of your car is really good. Car safety when you get hit at an angle or god forbid the side is really really not good.

The government is ultimately sympathetic to their concerns. Enough so to treat them lightly. If they had stormed the capitol because they were angry about police violence against innocent people, they probably would not have made it out alive.

The hook of the story is that she killed someone drunk driving while out on bail from her participation in the 01/06 insurrection attempt.

An unrelated incident is why they should serve life sentences? Get a grip. This is why driving drunk should have much more severe consequences.

There was another one in my area that got arrested for dui while on bond. Weird how a lot of these people just seem like genuinely shitty people
