My deductible is $1500, so at least I'll have it met by next month lol. Still brutal that it costs that much, sheesh.

Honestly I try to forget medical/prescription costs because it's so infuriating and blatantly evil.

Had an elderly coworker that needed medicine for her heart or else surgery. Everyone at worked chipped in to cover it, but it's still a sad story.

It was 3 vials, which is approximately 3 months but I get 3 types of insulin so probably within 2 weeks I'll have to buy those two. Like I said, underlying good news is that my deductible will be fully paid this month.

yep. you have a monthly payment to subscribe to the thing that will cover your wallet in the event of any medical or property damage

except you also have to pay out of pocket up to a certain amount before that subscribed service even kicks in

it's so entrenched that the industry is worth trillions and the politicians make trillions more for not dismantling the scam that it is

Yeah, here in PR we go straight to copays and prices are reasonable like 160 monthly premiums for my family which already includes dental and vision.

Health insurance and drug prices are bullshit. I think the most i had to pay for insulin was like $600 for three months when I didn't have insurance.

Also out of curiosity, why do you use three different insulins? I've used two different types before, but since going on a pump, I've only used one.

Also my current pump cost me like $1500 out of pocket with insurance and that hurt too. Plus they didn't even send the supplies I needed for its essential functions like they were supposed to, just the stuff to use the CGM.

It's fucked up that paying extra each week for a smaller deductible comes out to about the same by the end of the year. My deductible goes down $600 for the higher option, but total insurance payment goes up $580. And if you don't reach the deductible you're paying extra for nothing.

Biden and MSNBC during the entire primary:

But what about people that negotiated with their workplace to cover their insulin? It wouldn't be fair to them if we made insulin cheaper for everyone.

But what about taxes? I don't care that it would ultimately save them a lot of money, I need my sound bite of you saying someone's taxes would be raised.

People like choosing which insurance company screws them. Free insulin for all takes away your choice to be scammed and is therfore anti-freedom.

Free insulin could turn us into a poor South American country.

Free insulin might lead to the public execution of your favorite TV pundits in Central Park.

Free insulin is unrealistic in America. I can get a public option done day 1. That's something that can be done easily, I can do it. Done! (The public option was never mentioned again)

I've just always used three, though I've changed the brands: Novalog, Novalin and Levimir. I used to use Humalong, Humalin and Lantis, but then once I got off my parents' insurance I had to switch since my insurance only covers the first three.

I probably could get away with removing the Novalin, but I do like it for like the extra help in the late morning/early afternoon. The Levimir (for me personally) is almost assuredly needed because I've tried using just Novalog/Humalog at night and my blood sugar goes way too high at night without it. I've looked at the pump before, but I just never really got into it.

Kind of in the mindset of, "if it's not broke, don't fix it," ...but instead I'm paying, quite literally, a lot for it lol. Is what it is though, need it to survive.
