Aside from my phobia, I don't seem to feel fear. The most that happens to me is feeling like all my senses awaken but that's probably just me returning to a natural state for my age because usually I wander around like a corpse. Like a blind and deaf corpse.

Being hit by a speeding truck.

Granted, I don't remember most of it, but still.

Having a blood clot pass through my heart then lodge itself in one of my lungs. Never known pain like it. (Don't sit down too long in front of the computer peeps) Then finding out I had pneumonia while I was in the hospital for the blood clot. Hell of a week that was.

Luck, I guess.

I was crossing a street near a bend, and nothing was coming when I checked, but the truck sped around the corner and hit me. I woke up a day or two later in the hospital with a cracked pelvis and tons of scrapes and bruises all over. It took months to recover.

I definitely can't say that I remember most of it, but just the sheer jump between starting to cross the street and then waking up in the hospital in intense pain with no memory of what happened in between, and just the knowledge that I likely could have died since I was just a kid, is pretty terrifying as a whole.

When I was having my third pleurodesis surgery, they put something to irritate my lungs and chest cavity so that they would scar and attach to each other, and that shit hurt A LOT. Like if I inhaled even the slightest my whole chest felt a sharp stabbing pain, so I had to take tiny sips of air which made me feel like I was suffocating. And it was that bad even though they had me hooked up to fentanyl.

Or maybe just the missile oopsie. But being in extreme physical pain seems worse than what couldve just been an inevitable disaster. I mean if a missile is headed towards your tiny island, theres not much to do but say oh well, I guess Ill die. I know I just went back to sleep when I got this alert

I got a call from my dad one day that my mom had gotten a massive infection and was in the hospital. She had just started recovering from a stroke she'd had a month or so before, she'd gotten a feeding tube put in, and the tube had come loose and gotten infected.

I just spent the rest of the day wandering around like a zombie and trying to mentally cope with the idea that very soon, I might not have a mother anymore.

She did end up recovering, but that infection messed her up so badly that it was a month before she was able to leave the ICU, and another month before she left the hospital entirely.

Car wreck when I was 9. I remember seeing the van swerve into our lane, the impact flung me forward so hard. I looked up and saw my mom bloody and unconscious. Dad was driving and he just got out took a seat next to the road. I looked at my brother who was next to me and saw an absolutely massive knot on his head. I literally thought his brain was falling out and I was stuck next to his corpse. My one cousin was with us and it cracked her hip so she was screaming and then she saw my brother and started just freaking out.

People gathered around and pulled us from the wreckage. I went and sat with my brother, thinking that I'd just become an only child. They medflighted him to a trauma center somewhere. He woke up on the way, but was blind for most of the day until brain swelling went down.

One ambulance took my dad and cousin, one took my mom, and I got left behind. A cop came over and scolded me to get out of the way and go back to my parents. I told him the ambulance took them. He called them back and I had to climb in on my own as the emt's seemed angry at me. It turned out that I ended up being the worst injured one of all of us.

Just remembering seeing my brother in that condition is messing me up now and it's been nearly 30 years.

Edit: The emt's told the hospital not to treat me as I wasn't hurt. I guess they thought I wasn't involved or something. That decision nearly killed me a couple days later. It was the worst week if my life in constant unbearable pain.
