Board 8 > Spider-Man is unnecessarily hard

There's something about (PS5's) Spider-Man's combat that seems unnecessarily difficult. The camera whirls and twirls, and Spider-Man's movement is tied to the camera. That means that if I see someone about to unleash an AoE attack and I try to swing away, the camera needlessly spins so that SM barely moves and he gets hit anyways. Or, and this happens a lot, the camera spins so that I'm facing away from absolutely everyone except for the one guy SM is attacking, and that leads to some cheap hits from behind. The targeting is weird, too, because SM might web up one guy and then attack some other guy way behind him, even if that guy is an unwebbed brute enemy.

I guess what I'm saying is fuck Insomniac games as well as all of the reviewers who gave this game rave reviews. I don't remember the Batman Arkham games causing me this much of a headache.

Did they mess up the PS5 enhanced port because I don't recall this being an issue two years ago when I played the PS4 version

No, I just suck at the game and I need to complain.

Yeah, I played both the PS4 versions of both Spider-Man and Miles Morales on hard and the combat was great.

If you've ever played the Arkham games these are obviously lifted from, it's the same thing. It's a lot of twitch reflexes and different inputs for unique gadgets to get around different enemy types and...yeah. It can get to be a lot.
