If they dialed back on the quality to like LK level, it'd still be funny, but that also limits creative freedom and people would have bitched. There's a difference between doing the buu Saga and movies when you're burnt/can't think of anything funny . vs Doing original content you're actually excited about using DBZ characters look at HFIL.
