Okay I am still learning what an NFT is. But something that bugs me, is why are so many people just doing variations of a monkey? The nature of this thing would seem to open itself to be anything. The answer is pretty simple; They want the fast track to cash using new technology and don't really grasp that a commodity needs some kind of value as a long-term investment. Chances are, a lot of them do understand this, but intend to sell based on hype and rugpull to get out with cash asap. I could see the value of an NFT if the digital certificate it represents was tied to an important artist or franchise but the whole monkey bit is just shitty, awful art, and even as a future investment with legitimate franchises, it seems risky since people would rather own actual physical objects. This is why the right-click meme is persistent; nobody gives a shit about digital certificates of ownership when you don't actually own what you've bought in any sense of the term "ownership" has meant throughout human history. --- Enjoy movies and television?
