At least with Mario Kart 8 I can understand its continued success since it's a pack-in game now IIRC, or at the very least it comes bundled with new Switches around the holidays

Do people lose their copies of GTA V every year in comparison, or maybe if you buy enough Shark cards it counts as a game purchase? Maybe it's cheaper to buy certain bundles if you want Shark cards Idk I figured most people bought it back in 2013/2014/2015 and never looked back

I still have yet to buy it, so if I get around to it it would have been the first purchase.

Never had a One/PS4 so I missed most of last gen, I've got a lot of ground to cover, and that hasn't included getting bilked by Rockstar yet.

I'm too busy getting bilked by Ubisoft.

Streamers play a part, there's a lot of highly watched role play type streams of it which brings the kids in

Also there's GTA RP which is getting more and more popular as well.

Maybe poor people who have to wait before they can afford a console. They wait for the ps4 xbox one to price drop to like 150 bucks and then get games when they drop to 10 bucks?
Not making fun of poor people btw.

This. I remember seeing bundles with like million dollar shark cards a whole lot over the years. They'd often coincide with a new GTA:O DLC content expansion.

Bethesda dropped the ball. Minecraft is a mess. VR still somewhat inaccessible or feels unsupported. The sim crowd jumped ship back to GTA.
