Guess the walls are thinner than they were in my childhood bedroom (in a different part of the house) because I can hear everything.

Heard him walking in, the lid opening, my Dad sitting down, a few introductory noises, my Dad grunting and saying "let's make some soup" then everything noisily spilling out.
