I just want to get this Tentacle one to level 30 so it will Evolve. It's at 29 right now, and it's close, but of course I have to do it the hard with with Spill Over EXP because it keeps dying because my Insta Kills are not killing it, and it take take any f'n hit back, lol. Self Destruction, Smackdown, I think Headbutt. I can avoid Rock Slide pretty easily, so I don't know if that will kill it right away.

Flame body. Someone like Magmar or slugma has it.

Yeah, that shit's annoying. Same with certain priority moves like Fake Out, all it serves is to make you wait a little longer and keep you from steamrolling through the game instead of just...making the trainers tougher. It's artificial difficulty (and it's not even difficult, just time consuming).

You'll get it at the resolution to the Lake issue. So no you haven't missed it, you just gotta book it to the lake by foot.

Ugh! At least I can Repel and make it a bit quicker. I also haven't went back and done things that were blocking my progress earlier. Like I recently got Strength and Surf, so there HAS to be things I can go and get right now, but I don't remember each place I've visited. Maybe I need to keep a notepad near me, lol

My gripe is saving time. Switching to something else eliminates the, "Oh, this low-level Pokemon I need to evolve can one-shot this area easily and evolve quickly," aspect of the game, lol

However, since you're here, this negates a huge complaint of mine of the series - trade Evolution.

I don't want to trade online, but if I have an awesome person IRL that wants to help me along the way, I'm game for that. . .

:l I mean you could always use the vs seeker on high exp opponents and abuse the exp share mechanics. There's also other optimal areas to farm exp at.

Kind of... When it hits the max, it does double the shiny chances in dens for a couple minutes and also increases the chance of rarer items in the walls...

Riolu? You got to Iron Island and didn't get Fly?

Go back to Veilstone, go to the Galactic Warehouse (it's past the area where you fought a Multi Battle with Dawn/Lucas against the Galactic Grunts), and the TM for Fly should be there. Once you get that, Fly should also register to your Hidden Moves app on your Poketch and you should be able to Fly via the Town Map.

It was honestly a great change. Made many Pokemon much more viable. Especially considering what a dogshit ability Sturdy was before that change.

And it's not like there's zero counterplay to it. You can set up entry hazards. You can use multi-hit moves. You can use a Pokemon with Mold Breaker to negate the ability. You can set up Hail or Sandstorm.

It's absolute bullshit when you just want to play the game and run into 20 Hikers each with 3 Geodude.

Use Fakeout. Or Damp ability.

Yes, set up Sandstorm to bypass all those rock, ground and steel type pokemon with sturdy.

You'll definitely get more mileage out of Hail, but there are Pokemon that have Sturdy that do take damage from Sandstorm. Namely Pineco, Sawk, Bergmite, Avalugg and Cosmoem.

If you got Fly from the Veilstone Warehouse, you should just be able to fly from the Town Map menu.

Speaking of Veilstone, I believe that's the town you're talking about. It's got the department store with all those good TMs.

It kinda says something about Pokemon that Sturdy is really annoying because it stops the gameplay from being battle starts, use one move, battle ends

Right, what I'm saying is you need to beat Maylene (the fighting-type Gym Leader in Veilstone) to be able to use Fly outside of battle.

What I don't understand is how you made it to Iron Island without beating Maylene.

You need to get to Canalave to get to Iron Island
You need to use Surf to get to Canalave
You need to beat Fantina to use Surf
And I THOUGHT you needed to beat Maylene and Crasher Wake to fight Fantina in the first place.

Did you unintentionally sequence break the game? I know it was possible a while back using glitches to skip certain parts of the game (or really, the whole entire game) but I think they patched most, if not all of that by now.

They have patched it out so either TC is refusing to try and use either method of using fly or is semi subtly trolling.

i was told that an icon on the map told me what to do next, and I've been doing that. At this point I'm thinking that I just don't know how to use Fly outside of battle, but I 99.9999% don't think that's the case, lol
