Yeah, plus probably whatever few dvds still sell? I just know I saw it took the crown from Bakemonogatari and more than doubled stuff like Madoka and Yuri on Ice.

I mostly see the series mentioned during top grossing conversations for mobile games and people being pissed horse girls is keeping their own game/s from hitting top grossing

I see Uma Musume CONSTANTLY on my various feeds.

I don't remember anyone talking about it when S2 was airing! Thought it was a bust.

I feel like this is the Japanese equivilant of that Yellowstone show: one of the biggest shows on American television and I ain't seen nobody on earth talking about it.

I dropped S1 after 4 episodes I think, better than expected but didn't seem particularly special.

Am still werking my way through Oniisama e... currently on episode 5.

Finishing up Taisho Otome Otogibanashi, only a few episodes left.

Oh dang, I didn't know there was a Chaos;Head re-release coming out with updated art/UI. I played 5 minutes of it before putting it on the back burner because of the game's look.

I already bought and finished Chaos;Child though so hopefully it's not only being sold as a pair.

Just slammed out all of Ranking of Kings (AKA One Piece x Game of Thrones) so far in one sitting.

It's in a wierd spot but it's still pretty solid. The Stars & Stripes stuff seemed super out of left field and pointless, like he was trying to get himself out of a writing screw-up. And boy do I still love Toga.

Pretty sure it's him. Couldn't remember his name at first. He proctored the first exam(the you have to cheat without getting caught to succeed exam). Just remembered his face. In hindsight, PORES might be a better word as opposed to holes. There was that one scene where he released air pressure through his pores.

Tbh I don't think much of the MHA manga has been very good at all once the "Final Act" or whatever started. Uraraka did get some good stuff and the current fight seems like it has potential, but still.

Stars and Stripes had a really cool power and it's absolutely a necessary nerf to Shigaraki, who was looking too powerful as written. It's also definitely a huge asspull because he wrote himself into a corner with the Shigaraki powerup. Unfortunate but probably unavoidable without having planned better in the first place.

Yeah it's just incredibly blatant, it gave the impression of him jingling shiny keys in front of your face to distract you. There's no buildup for it and no followup, the aftermath is like a couple pages. It's not like it's a huge misstep but it feels like an anime filler arc in manga form.

I would expect a season 6 to be just the paranormal liberation war and nothing else

If they get through a little quickly maybe they could end the season with Deku vs Class A

Spy x Family is fantastic and I have no doubt the anime will start out very good.

But it's Cloverworks (see topic title), so it's absolutely going to start skiping several volumes of content and end on a whimper to not get another season, so I have no intention of watching even one episode unless proven otherwise.

We can only hope WIT is taking the lead so it has a chance.

CW literally has two perfect adaptations this season...

Last year they had two screwed up adaptations that skipped tons of content, an original with a famously terrible ending, and an adaptation that is currently in the running for the most reviled anime adaptation of all time.

I stopped watching Dress Up Darling when I read the manga because, while good, the anime wasn't really adding anything for me at that point and since it's Cloverworks I was sure if was going to start skipping stuff eventually.

I have no idea what the deal with their other show is other than it's the wierd foot fetish show everyone is making fun of.

Also should point out the every single show I mentioned that was totally fucked in 2021 had a VERY strong start. I was calling Wonder Egg an early anime of the decade contender for a few weeks there. Cloverworks is the ultimate bait and switch studio.

Again though, I'm not completely writing off SxF because WIT also has top billing and WIT is a fucking ROCK nowadays, I'd trust them with my first born. As soon as there's an unexpected 2+ volume jump though it's time to abandon ship.

Rewatching .hack//SIGN. Still a lovely counterpoint to all the Isekai stuff 20 years down the road by focusing so much on drama and almost zilch on the whole "game" aspect.

Such a different take that holds up.

I recently picked it up on DVD, it's been so long since I watched it. From my memory it's still one of the best things to come out of the franchise and the genre.

The one main issue I have with .hack as a narrative (both games are repetitive as shit, so I'm keeping that separate) is G.U. apes the OG game way too much. I'm curious what .hack would do with a storyline that wasn't "people in comas." G.U. is definitely an 8 or 8.5 version of said story...but man, I didn't need to see it again. At least SIGN and Roots feel slightly different.

Well, I'm using isekai liberally, because video games seem to be the one of two major versions those stories take.

440 chapters into Kingdom, yeah this is a VERY good manga. I can absolutely see why it's so beloved and popular. Seems like it's going to be a nightmare once I catch up tough. Looking at the numbers one of the battles lasted 3 years of publication (not that it felt overdrawn, it WORKS, but still).

The anime seems to have gotten Berserk 2016'dthough which is a shame.

Caught up with JJK, haven't read since just after the end of the Maki revenge stuff which was obviously fantastic on every level. This arc now is...

Uh.....

I gotta be honest, I don't even know what's going on. Obviously I get the events of the chapters on a beat by beat micro level, but the overall macro story arc is completely lost on me. It also doesn't seem great, the first time I've felt that about JJK since actually getting into it other than, like, one fight in the school battle stuff wayback when.

Yeah it's a little hard to see where it's going. It did a lot of set-up and now we're getting a lot of fights with random new characters with complex powers and the main goal is kinda muddy.

I think this would be a good one to check back in later when the arc is complete.

At least the Phoenix Wright fight was fun, hope that comes back later.

But yeah considering just how incredible the last couple arcs were, this seems steep. It feels like an anime filler arc just after JJK was entering the equivilant of it's Chimera Ant phase of escalation.

I'm not about to completely throw out an interesting show just because the last of it's 5 listed genres is ecchi.

I've watched Tenchi Muyo like 4 times.

Executioner and Her Way of Life has always been the hypest spring show tbqh

I think the ecchi in summertime rendering is just girls wearing swimsuits but I'm not totally sure
