My wifes got most of the haloes up to about 2010 on vinyl too, which is cool

I actually have one of those but it is ligit old school. As in it works with out electricity.

nice! records can be expensive, paying upwards of $30 for a single album can add up fast. i only buy albums new that i know i'll revisit over and over. with CDs being super cheap, i'd buy an album that i was lukewarm on, or just to check out, but not with vinyl.

You should try to track down a copy of The Best Of Marcel Marceao.

also, it's fun to go to used record stores and go through stuff. with vinyl being as popular as it is, it's unlikely you'll find any "hidden gems", but you might find something cool like a used NIN record for $15 instead of $25. i got a Miles Davis record for like $12, a Zeppelin one for $14 and a Floyd album for $15 in one trip once. and the people who work at record stores are sometimes fun to talk to since they almost all really like music.

if you get into more vinyl collecting, for sure consider upgrading your player at some point. those cheaper record players ruin records quicker and most likely wont play 180 gram vinyls.

No, it was a whined-up. Though the spring has since broken.
It has a crank like a WWI aircraft.

Having said that, if I turn the turntable with my finger it still plays music, at full volume.

Congrats, It's a fun hobby to get into. I've been collecting records for years. It can definitely become expensive if you really get into it, but there is so much cool stuff out there.
