Best homemade coffee factoring in effort and skill needed
Vote
I quit making coffee years ago because the cafe >> me but I have only gotten cafe coffee 5 times since May 2020. I have never pulled an espresso but I do have a machine. I am wondering how I should make coffee. Please advise, CE. --- GoldenSun/Crossbone Isle diagrams/ 18 teams known https://photobucket.com/u/SwordOfWheat/a/9990a2ee-25f3-4242-ae79-7d2d4b882be4 ... Method doesn't matter much compared to coffee quality, assuming the method is done properly. Of those options drip will give you best quality accounting for the least effort, though a french press can give you great quality for not much more effort. --- Buffalo Bills Season Prediction: 13-4 Season: 8-6 Week 16: @ NE ... k cups are too wasteful. you don't need to consume a plastic cup every time you have one cup of coffee. espresso is nice if you like.. espresso. drip is pretty easy and you can make large amounts. what about french press? ever try that? ... Copied to Clipboard!

You don't have to use the disposablessome, meaning probably newer ones, have a sensor that will detect if you have an "official" one or not. but i heard you can just cut a wire inside to disable that, but that was a while ago and they may have made it harder. but lmao. imagine having to mod your coffee maker just to make coffee. just dont buy keurig. --- JISOO JISOO ... As a low key coffee snob who enjoys the art but not the amount of money it costs, my tier list of important things you need to think about would be (in order of most to least important)
It's kind of like the steak argument. if you like well-done steak that's your prerogative, I'm not here to tell you that dark roast coffee is bad. But equally, don't give me your stupid bullshit about how it's wagyu beef or Nicuraguan single origin whatever when you've completely cooked all of the quality out of it. If you buy artisan coffee it better be lightly roasted, whole bean, freshly roasted and ground to the optimal grind size. --- CE's Resident Scotsman. http://i.imgur.com/ILz2ZbV.jpg ... [LFAQs-redacted-quote] i weigh the beans, dump them into the grinder and hit "go". it's a minimal amount of effort and the impact to taste is definitely noticable. but i also go through the whole pour over process and making my coffee takes 5 minutes of involved effort plus waiting on the water to boil. --- Playing: Deathloop (PC) I hope something good happens to you today ... CobraGT posted... https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/how_to_make_cold_brew_coffee/ correct. cold brew is cool because you can make a large batch at once and have it last you a few days. the downside is that it uses a ton of beans, so if you buy good coffee it can be a pricey cup. --- Playing: Deathloop (PC) I hope something good happens to you today ... Bleuets posted... Yall mustve never had a good cup of expresso before. That is easily the best not sure how its losing the poll. i voted for drip because decent espresso machine is still relatively expensive. and then you need a good grinder to get espresso fineness consistently. i find that auto-drip is also more forgiving in terms of not needing good quality beans and it's hard to find quality espresso beans at a grocery store. so in terms of overall balance between easy barrier to entry, easy to make and getting a decent cup i went with drip. but yes, if you're already into coffee and have the gear and good beans, a shot or two of espresso takes like a minute to make and can be damn tasty. they're also super convenient when you just need a quick boost and don't want to spend 5-10 minutes brewing and then drinking a cup of coffee. --- Playing: Deathloop (PC) I hope something good happens to you today ... trappedunderice posted... because I dump 7 to 8 big ass tablespoon fulls of folgers medium in the filter. if you're using a regular sized drip pot, that's usually 12 'cups'. to follow the recommended ratio, that would need 24 tablespoons, which is quite a bit of coffee. try making half a pot with 12 tbps or 4 'cups' (1/3 pot) with 8 tbsp and see how much stronger the brew is. --- Playing: Deathloop (PC) I hope something good happens to you today ...
