We take care of a few strays because they keep away the mice from the construction area not too far away.

They've been having lots of kittens, so we decided to get them spayed and neutered.

The ones we tried to spay and neuter were the ones that were more accepting of us. None of them attack or even hiss, but only a few let us pet and hold them. We picked the runt of the litter, who had crossed eyes and bow-legs, because he LOVED people. He'd meow like an alarm clock when someone showed up, and would demand pets.

After the surgery, I guess he got parvo.

It was better to euthanize him than to just let him suffer, so we did that.

Imma miss him.

I wish I had some pictures to post but I never really thought about it. All this was incredibly sudden. I'm not much for pictures, so I never really thought I'd have to take them. He was so young, too, like 3 months old.

Yeah, we've been taking care of them as well as we can. They're all sweethearts and don't deserve to just suffer in the cold. If we didn't have dogs, we'd let them inside.

i love the neighborhood cat. some days she will disappear for weeks and i get a little worried. but i imagine someone must be feeding her. but then she shows up and wants to play. feel kinda bad cause she gets into cat fights with other cats. i see the wounds. she'll headbutt me and let me scratch her head but picking up is a no no.

Do you feed her at all/give her treats? Cats will always go where guaranteed food is.

We also have a cat that gets into fights, he's actually the dad of all the cats here. You can feel the scars all over his body, but he's the most lovable rascal you could think of.

There was no complications, but yes, they keep the charge. The whole process was about 900 dollars including the euthanization. 100 for the spay and neutering, but my aunt paid for that herself so I don't know the exact cost because she just gave me a vague estimate.

It is. He had a week left, and it would have been painful. Even with the best treatments with thousands of dollars, it only would have lasted a month.
