So todays game is a two in one and unlike games with multiple expansions we have done like Starcraft there will not be an overall rating, so today we will give separate ratings for:

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos

and

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne

The reasoning here is that they are relatively separate stories that do not really tie into a consistent larger story.

How would you rate the stories on a scale from 1-10?

Arthas' descent to madness didn't have a good enough build and after that the story was a little underwhelming.
Illidan's story was more intriguing for me overall.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XII

2.5

I have had way more fun with this game than XIII-2 and the battle system works really well but the plot is just straight up hot garbage. The ending is also laughably bad but at least it finally gave us closure when both previous games kinda ended on a cliffhanger.

The story sucks but I really do recommend this game because the battle system is fun and the Majora's Mask-like time limit system adds a layer of creativity and urgency to the side quests. It is also my most replayed game from the trilogy because first of all it is a lot shorter than both previous game, it has good challenge and offers a wide range of customizability for Lightning.

Short story: garbage story, fun game.

RoC: 9.5/10

Human campaign is too good. Everything comes together at the end nicely.

TFT: 7/10

They did lose momentum here storywise. A long chase, not much of humans doing anything, Undead campaign is no Brood War. Gameplay department does have some cool ideas to keep it all fresh though.

I have indeed played this game, I guess I just felt that the two parts did not really form a single enough narrative. To me, the Night Elf campaign in TFT feels like a beginning not a middle if that makes sense. However, after reviewing it I have changed my mind.

I dunno quoting your review it doesn't sound like a "1/10" to me
Without delving into spoilers, Warcraft 3's single player is decent. The plot is also decent, but only because it copies all of its plot twists directly from Starcraft. A couple of the cinematics are good.

Because by his logic, if there is one facet of the game that rubs him the wrong way, it is automatically 1/10 literal trash. Never mind the fact that topics like these require you to separate the story and the game itself and judge the story for the story, not the game.

Yeah I never got any social agena vibes from Blizzard so I don't know what that's about

SC2 writing had a lot of problems but I don't think there was any social agenda behind them
The writer just sucked (and yeah I know it's the same guy, but the years ruined him)

They're definitely separate stories. TFT is like an aftermath to the whole thing, each race makes off on its own with its own conflict while RoC is the story that gathers them all, and the core of the war.

I'll give it 9/10 overall; TFT shouldn't diminish it much as RoC is still most of the story.

Reign of Chaos: 6/10. Its alright with a great first half featuring Arthas that kind of falls apart in the second part a bit as Thralls story isnt as interesting as he is and the Night Elf storyline is messy overall.

The Frozen Throne: 7/10. The better of the two, the more vignette style allows the characters to have their own arcs in a concise and elegant way as opposed to the base game that drops characters partway through.

Overall: 6.5/10.
