What has been ruled out after testing: covid

Im finally getting more tests done this afternoon.

I got a cough (both dry and with dark mucus, sometimes blood) 20 days ago. I also had a fever for a week, aching lungs and aching limbs. I saw a doctor who concluded that it most likely was the seasonal flu since my covid test was negative.

I got better but my mucus cough never went away and this week the cough has gotten worse and Im nearly aphonic.

So they are taking more tests today. My personal theory is that it was the flu and Ive then gotten a bacterial infection in my lungs. Not that uncommon after the flu and I have asthma which make me extra susceptible. Im a bit pissed they havent taken a throat culture earlier (or whatever you call it in English) because I have called my doctor a couple times. The constant dark, blood mixed mucus is an indication that something is wrong.

Damn dude a month of coughing blood I'd take this VERY seriously. Force your doc to rule out cancer

If I hadnt had that fever and flu symptoms Id be really worried about cancer. Now I think it is because of an infection and because of the constant coughing - plenty of tiny blood vessels which can pop when you cough like this.

Have they ruled out tuberculosis and cancer?

Havent you been on and off sick park the past year as well?

Hope they can get to the bottom of this.

That was 2020. I had pneumonia, several bad colds, some stomach bug and so forth 2021 I havent been ill until November.

Yeah sounds like back to back infections or lung cancer. Tuberculosis is also possible?

Have you been exposed to any chemicals you may have breathed in harmful amounts of within the last month?

Ive had a cough for a week now. Randomly lost my voice last Friday, got the cough and an itchy throat. Have tried tons of meds but it just wont go away.

covid test came back negative. But I did get my booster shot Sunday while feeling kinda crummyprobably wasnt the best idea. Felt horrible Monday and Tuesday.

My wife's been coughing for over a month, but no blood or fever. Every time we think it starts to get better, it gets worse again. No Covid. Tagging to see how your appointment goes.

I have a bacterial lung infection. Common for people with asthma to get after a flu. First the virus come and then the bacteria move in. Ive been prescribed antibiotics and cortison pills.

Bronchitis maybe? I got that a few years ago when I didnt have health insurance and it basically lasts until it gets warmer or you go get a shot and some medicine.

I know few years ago, i had a persistent cough throughout the winter, and i think a lot of people had it, but nothing really worked for it, it just had to leave your system... as a massage therapist, it sucked ass.. i hated working like that, but luckily my clients understood.

After 28 hours on antibiotics my cough is already getting better. No blood since this morning. The mucus is a lot more clear now rather than dark brown and green. The cough is also less rib shattering.

Hope to be restored by Christmas

In the past few years I had this happen a couple times. I will have bad cough for weeks or even months. And then just as suddenly as it came on, it goes away. I even went to a doctor and asked about it, and the doctor was no help. Had no idea what it was and said to just endure it
